From mains to deserts they are family recipes and it shows as the meal was great. Cost £10 for 3 tacos and a selection of all 3 sides which was the perfect amount (but I did add a 4th taco so I could try all the meat ones). My partner is a vegetarian and she loved the vegetarian tacos. Good selection of drink and great ice cream to finish it off. Brighton is starting to get a bigger selection of Mexican restaurants but I would recommend you try Pakal Taco Bar first.

This family owned restaurant gave me and my friends an amazing experience! The tacos were amazing and the hibiscus margaritas were lovely - not too sweet but flavoured which was great. The three owners were really friendly and upbeat so we felt very welcome. I would highly recommend this place.

WOW! Real Mexican cooked by a real Mexican. This place is super authentic. Say goodbye to cheesy TexMex, and say hello to crisp clean flavour profiles which focuses on the quality of ingredients and simple flavour combinations. Best beans I've ever had (totally veggie as well!) and real soft taco tortillas. We had two two meat lovers, a toddler and a veggie. All the plates were generously filled and polished off, but still left room for dessert... and what a dessert. Tequila and lime ice cream is a must. Drinks - I know a real margarita when I taste one.... and this place is legit. The team made us feel very welcome and catered for our children, but still felt intimate for a great first date. Will definitely be returning soon.

Absolutely superb authentic Mexican Tacos and a new experience a Gringa. Sides of refritos & pico de gallo served with fresh tortilla chips were delicious. Great bar, lovely staff and superb atmosphere. Will definitelybe back many times 😉

Visited as a suggestion by a friend who found a great offer of 3 x tacos, sides and a margarita on Wriggle. Did not disappoint - amazing, authentic Mexican food (all are heaven, but the chicken taco is out of this world. Could eat a plate full), delicious hibiscus margaritas, refreshing tequila and lime ice cream - everything on the menu are homemade recipes and it shows. On top of all this the service was incredible. It’s rare to find an establishment where the people seem so genuinely enthusiastic & happy to chat to you & make your dining experience even better. Will be recommending and will definitely be back!

Blown away by these tacos, what a revelation. Have barely finished licking the sauce from my fingers before reaching for my phone to leave this review. All tacos were great, but the chorizo was excellent and the lamb barbacoa was incredible. Friendly and funny staff, possibly head chef (?) told us lovingly about his sauce and his family recipes. If you haven't been here yet, do it!

We have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while. We finally went last night. We were immediately met with a very warm and friendly welcome. We ordered our drinks and I opted for the Hibiscus Margarita which was delicious. We went on to order 3 tacos each, incuding the chicken, beef, lamb, cherizo and the vegetarian option. The restaurant was already filled with an amazing aroma and were not disappointed when our tacos came. They were absolutely delicious. Our favourites were the beef and chorizo ones. The sides were also good especially the refried beans. They tasted very authentic and the atmosphere was buzzing. With the friendly chat with all the staff, the whole experience was very enjoyable and very good value for money. We would reccomend anyone if they are looking to eat tacos to go here but it is a good idea to book.

An amazing taco bar pop-up. This mexican street food bar is a pop-up restaurant sharing a space with what is the Oseta Cafe by day. We visited on a Thursday evening. When we walked past at around 8:30 it looked pretty busy, so we had a drink in the Foundry Pub nearby, and came back at 9:20, when it was much quieter. The staff were very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome - service with a smile! They were happy to chat and explain the menu and options. For drinks I had a wonderful sangria. Not sweet and insipid as you'd get from a chain eatery - this one was full of interesting complex flavours (and plenty of alcohol as well). My date had a margarita, which she was very happy with. For food, I ordered three tacos (chicken, beef and chorizo) along with a selection of sides - this came to £13, although I understand if you use Wriggle you can get a deal on this. My date ordered the veggie option. The presentation of the street-food-sized tacos was great, and the taste was amazing - fresh and full of flavour. I also liked how the fillings came with two tacos each, so if you dropped any filling you could wrap it up and make a second. As we finished our meal, Omar the chef came over for a chat. It turns out Pakal Taco is a family venture between him, his wife and his brother-in-law Charlie (who was also serving). All the staff were lovely, and after ten minutes of chatting we shared a shot of tequila with the staff and the other few patrons! A lovely place to eat, highly recommended.

Authentic Mexican home cooking. Fresh tasty ingredients with such great flavour. The best tacos in Brighton! Amazing margaritas and latin music that make for a great night. Try the hibiscus margarita!

Brighton is so lucky to have this place - visits here should be a mandatory condition of residency. The recipes are all the mother of the chef's, and this is Mexican as opposed to Californian food. I love it all - the 'pre-millenial, pre-hispanic' guacamole (chopped with tomatoes not mushed with cream) the thick savory tortilla, the hibiscus margarita, but worth the mandatory attendance order by itself are the crispy Taco de Barbacoa - fried in the fat from the lamb in the filling - they are a level up on anything else in town.

Amazing food and a good representation of Mexican cuisine. A few dishes to choose from, but done extremely well and with care and consideration for each customer. So sad the pop up has ended for the season 😥
