Love this place, we now come here every weekend. Amazing breakfasts, not cheap but worth the money for all the quality ingredients and the chefs are wonderful- poached eggs are perfect every time! Smallish menu but caters quite well for vegetarians too. Very friendly staff, good service, even when they get busy. Highly recommend!

If we fancy somewhere for breakfast or an afternoon tea in Canterbury with our kids, the Refectory is always our first choice...great food, friendly and welcoming staff...definitely the best of the (ever growing number of) indie cafes and lunch stops in the city.

Really nice breakfast menu. Place was busy but we were still served quickly and didn’t have to wait long for our food or drinks. Brilliant service by Gina :)

An absolute gem. The food is delicious, the coffee is great and the service is friendly and efficient. The menu has great variety and it never disappoints! Would advise getting there early to guarantee a table as it is so popular!

Visited here for brunch around 11.30ish. Waited about 30 minutes to enter. The only restaurant with queues so must be good. Service was excellent and food quality really good. The buttermilk pancakes were the best. A good find in Canterbury.

Wow. Recommended by a stranger overhearing our conversation about where to have breakfast the following day. Was not disappointed. Food including vegetarian was excellent as was the service. On a Sunday morning it was packed, so you might have to queue. We were lucky, but worth the wait. Think it was a sixteen minute walk from the Premier Inn following the high street, on the other side of the river. Check it out.

Had a lovely brunch here on a beautiful sunny day with friends. We ordered the refectory grill up, veggie up, berry compote buttermilk pancake and banana pancakes. Everything was exceptional but I particularly loved their Refectory grill up. This place actually comes on “things to in Canterbury” list on Timeout and it actually is. I am surely going to come back whenever I visit Canterbury.

Quite simply the best breakfast - ever. Clean, fresh, super tasty, our favourite place and that is not said lightly. I can highly recommend and the service is second to none which just makes it a complete 10/10 experience.

The location is perfectly in between the train station and Canterbury Cathedral. The fresh orange was excellent, and they have “long black” which is a rare find. Overall it was excellent, there were some locals dining as well so it did not feel like a total tourist restaurant.

The space has a sweet smell of food. My friend’s chocolate looks lovely— didn’t know it can have latte art as well! The flat white is rich, with notes of fresh berries but not sour. The pancakes are phenomenal. Soft, fluffy, bathed by compote that is indulgent but not too sweet and has a crunchy texture thanks to the toasted granola bits. The Merguez is a hearty bright start for the day. The sausages are beautifully spiced. The house cured salmon tastes fresh and delicate, though the cuts are quite thin.
