Based within Ffandango's deli in Llandaff, Bara Menyns food is an absolute nugget of deliciousness, and well worth the visit.
Their food is home made, using ingredients which are sourced within Ffandango's itself, with the loving care and attention that only somebody who is passionate about what they do can provide.
I had the veggie breakfast last week, and must say that it was superb - A lot of consideration went into the dish, which consisted of home made glamorgan sausages, toasted sourdough, fried potatoes, grilled tomatoes, mushroom topped with rarebit and a truffle infused crust, eggs of your choice and some amazing baked beans with some interesting additions. This breakfast really did set me up for the day. I'm sure meat alternatives are available, and are equally delicious!
Lovely staff. Very welcoming. Has a really relaxed laid back vibe. The 'Diff' Breakfast was phenomenal, best breakfast I've had in a long time! Will definitely visit again.
My photo of the Welsh Breakfast doesn't do it justice. The slow cooked pork with beans was incredible. This was easily the tastiest cooked breakfast I've ever had. The service was great too, well worth a visit.
My one criticism was the tea; they have loose leaf pots but put bags in the filter (which didn't allow it to brew properly). They either need to use loose leaf or don't use the filter (and maybe use different tea).
My wife enjoyed her Welsh Rarebit and said the coffee was great.
Stopped twice here recently. The first time for a coffee and decided to return to try their breakfast. Wonderful clean, modern interior. Excellent, filling breakfast, good value with locally sourced ingredients. Had visited their previous site in Llandaff and good to know they are still serving the same quality food. For those who are walking the Cardiff Bay barrage it’s a great place to stop if you’re doing a walk from Penarth and back. The building is easy to spot in the distance too as the red brick stands out alongside the BBC studios. Will definitely call again.
Bara Menyn has the best vegetarian breakfast! The Glamorgan sausage is fantastic. The food is prepared to order and is consistently fresh and fantastic. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Best breakfast in Cardiff. Good quality local produce, freshly prepared. We have been here multiple times and it never disappoints.
Delicious homemade food, a fun and casual atmosphere, and lovely staff. I had the falafel with the sourdough pita, and it was excellent!
