Excellent - what a great new addition to the food options in North Cardiff. Really attractive venue, lovely reasonably priced (cheap) food and friendly staff. Only minor grumble - it was a little loud (maybe some acoustic softening could help with this) and the pizzas were pretty salty. Recommend definitely and planning a return already. Packed on a sunny Friday evening. We'll done!
Returned for Saturday lunch in Oct 2023 - pizza was not salty this time. Young girl who served us was lovely. 5* lovely!!
‘like having Italy at my doorstep’
After coming back from my Milan trip I was unfortunately left still craving some good authentic Italian food:( Wish I found this place sooner as it’s literally a few minutes drive away.
Tagliatelle Gamberoni- pasta cooked Al dente in Napoli sauce with a bit of cream and fresh prawns!
Lasagne- beautifully layered with ground beef in between fresh sheets of pasta and rich tomato sauce.
Tiramisu- if you’re a fan of coffee this will not disappoint! Absolutely loved the food here! Fresh and bursting with all the right flavours! Really surprised to see how busy the restaurant was around 6pm midweek! Food must really be good here- Id suggest making a reservation on weekends to be safe. Staff were also amazing! So hospitable, friendly and attentive! Cannot wait to try the rest of the menu!
This is one of the spots I frequent when in Cardiff & let me say, it’s definitely at the top of my list for all things foodie related. Not only is the food to die for, (the Tagliatelle Mare Monte is elite) but the staff is very pleasant & Zen is an absolute gem! She has the brightest personality & that makes my visit worthwhile every time I come. 5/5*
Visited Villaggio for the first time and it absolutely lives up to the reviews. Since it opened a couple of short months ago - it's always been busy and we can see why.
The food was outstanding - we had Arancini, Meatballs and Calamari to start, the Tagliatelli with King Prawns and Mushrooms and Canneloni. Portions were generous - but not too much (the exact right balance for excellent value!) and the flavours really really good. The service was really good as well.
We will 100% be back - so happy to have it on our doorstep!

Just got back from a lush evening with my friends. The food was great. For me though, what made it so great was the service. Having spent time in customer service based roles it’s such a pleasure when you have really fun and engaging staff - it literally makes the whole experience so much better. Our waitress, Zen, was great and a real pleasure to interact with - Thank You, Zen!

Had an amazing meal here, it was a quick stop for myself and my son on our way home, we hadn't been before, but will definitely be returning. The pizza's were the best I've ever had and I've never seen my son eat so quietly because he enjoyed it so much. The service was fantastic, our waitress Zen was so friendly and made us feel very welcomed, very good recommendations from her too. Will definitely be recommending to friends and can't wait to go back.
