Costa Coffee

I have a service dog in training and the staff have gone out of their way to make both me and my dog feel accepted and welcome. Service is always great and the store is generally really clean. My dog has become a bit of a celebrity in there with both the staff and the customers and we look forward to our daily visits. We'll done Tom and team.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for a coffee and hot chocolate after our normal coffee shop over the road on Chelmsford High Street (Caffe Nero) was shut. This Costa is nice, clean and spacious (see photos) and the late afternoon sun comes through the front window. Staff were friendly and efficient and cakes and food well stocked. Both the large hot chocolate (with oat milk) and the Latte were good. However, in terms of quality/taste I still think Caffe Nero is tastier. In terms of cost Costa were 30p more expensive for the same items. Recently Caffe Nero has been often closing before their scheduled closing time which is annoying, so we may well be here more often as Costa seems more reliable.

A little disappointed with service, although small queue and plenty of seating. Server unable to hear order & not understanding the menu choices. Would prefer menu prompts near till to assist especially with new menu items. Nice helpful staff but better process required. Will likely pre order next time even if outside the shop!!
