Central Park Deli

My girlfriend and I have been here three times so far and have left happy, full and looking forward to the next time we can come back. The wait staff is very kind and quick, the food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is lovely and calm. There isn't anything that has been anything less than excellent.

I went to the Central Park Deli tonight. For the first time, I wasn't impressed by the service. I arrived at 7:10, a full 50 minutes before their closing. When I approached the counter and got a menu for perusal, the cashier side-eyed me and asked if I was dining in or ordering to-go. I said I wanted to place a to-go order. After another eye-roll, the employee moved over to the other side of the register to take my order, which consisted of 3 hot dogs, a kid's burger and an order of fries. They barely made eye contact and could not answer basic questions. After I placed my order, paid and tipped, the same employee immediately walked to the door and switched the sign to "closed". Then they took the phone off the hook. The restaurant wasn't busy, four of their 20 or so tables were occupied. I felt like my being there was an imposition on the employees. If you wish to close at 7pm, by all means please do. But it was close to an hour before closing at a quick-serve restaurant, so I don't see why I was made to feel unwelcome by the employees.

Great lunch spot! Fast service and a lot of home made options to choose from. They serve house made dill pickles when u sit down and they are delicious! The sweet tea was on point as well. I had a corned beef sandwich with a side of potato salad. Come in, seat yourself and have lunch. You won't be disappointed!
