We are out for a family night mid week me my hubby and two boys, hadn't planned to go here. My hubby and myself called in for a dink and decided to stay and asked the boys to come over. Had read reviews and we're unsure but know most places in town hadn't been here so decided to stay. The boys ordered pizza and they said 'i haven't had pizza like that since Italy mam", we had fillet steak it comes with the sauce which is great. In total 4 mains bottle of wine 2 deserts and a few cokes £114 about right for a treat night out. Staff wise our waiter and other staff were lovey, there is one guy behind the bar who is quite arrogant. We nearly didn't stay for a meal as he needs to learn some manners, but pleased we did.
Visited last Saturday had speedy service all staff were friendly. There were six of us and all loved the food. I particularly liked the cold meat sharing platter everything was fresh & very tasty.
This is a superb find tucked away in a corner of Cockermouth. The front entrance is tiny but the restaurant stretches far back. Spacious with friendly professional staff, you get excellent service while also feeling a good degree of privacy.
The venue and food are both quite posh but our stomachs were well and truly filled. The pizza was delicious and the steak done to perfection. The onion rings (so difficult to do well without being horribly greasy) were superb here.
My own criticism was that I didn't think much of the garlic bread which was so thin crust that there was hardly anything to it. It was tasty enough but the least of all we had to eat.
I do highly recommend their bottle of Merlot though. Absolutely delicious. We polished it off!
Our group of 5 enjoyed a fantastic meal; friendly and efficient service, lovely food, excellent value for money, lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend. Great round off to a Lakes short break

Grate place lovely staff very nice and tasty food. Loved everything about place and food . Definitely if I'm around gonna come back for more .
Food was delicious, with a relatively short wait time. The hanging kebab was exceptional! The young waiter with glasses gave us excellent service - will definitely come back here again.
My two friends and I have had a great dinner here. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very professional and polite and they've made sure that my food was gluten free since I have an intolerance. Really nice place, I would go back.

Would make a brilliant smokey old jazz lounge from the 20's. However our visit was minus the smoke and jazz but the atmosphere is lovely (Sunday evening), food is hearty and very well presented, tasting very good too.. staff were absolutely amazing, engaged and eager to make your visit as pleasant as possible! Suspect it can be a bit chaotic at peak times, Friday/Saturday nights with the drinking crowd but catch it off peak and it's a wonderful experience 👍
Fabulous. Really lovely night celebrating 2 birthdays. First class food (so fresh and well prepared), brilliant service, immaculately clean. Perfect. Couldn't have asked for more.
Really good food, generous amount of lamb on the roast was very nice. Pre order system worked well, would recommend. Will be back soon.
Called in for food the night before a wedding. About 6 or 7 of us. Service and food excellent. They did mess up my burger but was quickly sorted and they offered me a free pint. Would recommend, tastey food and lots of it.
