Superb food at very reasonable prices for the quality. I stayed in my van with a mate. Deal was we could park up overnight in the car park if we had our evening meal in the pub. Good deal for us, lol. Thanks.

Turned upto this place and just seeing it we loved, stayed for a few nights in rm 2. The welcome from the owners was amazing and freindly, they made us feel welcomed from the word go. Room was really, really cosy. Wifi in the room was brilliant. Evening meals were booked for the 3 nights and each meal was amazing , chips were very moorish, had different meals on each night and each was worth every penny.. Breakfast and the service along with was second to none. This places knows how to find your tastebuds wanting more. Huge compliments to the cook and the owners for giving us an amazing stay here.
For the wainwright baggers this is an excellent base to start from for the Northern, North Western, western fells, and down to Derwent for the Central fells, time wise for the areas is possibly from 20 - 40 mins drive to desired areas.

Stopped on an off chance, looking for somewhere to eat . I'm so glad we did .. we opted for Roast Beef 😋 and then creme brulee yummy . Very friendly made us feel very welcome.

Went for dinner, had probably the best pie and mash I've ever had. The steak and loweswater ale pie was phenomenal.
The roast dinner (which the wife had) was also amazing.
We had three courses which were priced really well, especially for the quality of the food.

Stayed in the area recently and booked for Sunday Lunch. Warm welcome and fabulous food. Highly recommended and reasonable prices. Definitely worth booking if your in the area.

Lovely pub with great welcome and a very decent room. Immaculately clean room with good bathroom comfy bed and coffee /tea sofa tv etc. Handy to have outside door for access with dogs. Lovely food and breakfast cooked to order. Been here several times and always very pleased.

Went for Sunday lunch, very quick service and very good food. Nice cosy traditional pub. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back again

We went for food after a long hike round Ennerdale.. a perfect stop off after for some fantastic food.. it was beautifully presented and as tasty as it looked..I'd definitely recommend

We had a meal here recently and were seriously impressed with all the dishes served. Every meal was something special and we can't praise it highly enough. The Lamb my Brother and I had was the best I've ever tasted, absolutely perfect. My partner had the Katsu Curry and she thought that the very best she had ever had.
