Na-ree Thai Restaurant

Visited for a weekend went na tee Thai on a Saturday night and the experience was amazing. A very authentic classic looking Thai experience and the food was amazing. Portion sizes are very generous and the tasty food was to die for. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Colchester to go here if you love Thai or Asian cuisine. Make sure your hungry!!!

I was in Colchester for the week on business and this was hands down the best restaurant in town. I ended up going 3 times. The green papaya salad is fresh and spicy, the tom yum soup and pad thai were incredibly tasty and the portions were perfect. Leave room for dessert! The banana pancake with fresh grated coconut is the best way to end your meal. This is a family run restaurant where the service is impeccable. Can’t recommend enough!

We visited the Naree Thai on Saturday evening 20 July. It was my wife's birthday and we had decided to celebrate with an evening meal here with all the direct family members (7 people). We had heard that the original and long-time owner Lek and her family had very recently taken over the running of this restaurant once again. Well we were certainly not disappointed. The food was plentiful and of very high quality! This is authentic Thai food at its very best! Lek is from Thailand and was cooking in the kitchen herself! This is not food prepared by a Chinese cook, who thinks he can prepare Thai delicacies! The service was very friendly and efficient too! We will definitely be going back again for more. It is certainly to be hoped that now Lek is back at the restaurant and in top form, she decides to stay for a long time. The place has never been the same without her. Anyway there is nothing like trying the food for yourself so do yourself a big favour, get down to the Naree Thai as soon as you can and sample its delights! The restaurant has also been recently very tastefully renovated too!

Great restaurant, had many good meals here. Green curry is my favourite, Pad Thai is also very nice. Service is fast and staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are very good, 3 course meal can be had for £15-£20 but take your friends, have a few drinks, enjoy the evening and you still won't break the bank.

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant. The food is very tasty. This time we went for the set menu which I believe was very good value. The taste of the food is very authentic, very flavoursome and good to look at too. The staff are very courteous and pleasant to talk too. Good swift service which was ideal as we were going to a show at the Mercury Theatre.
