Gurkha was an accidental find for us, as the restaurant we were planning to go to was closed. We left Gurkha knowing that we will definitely be back. The atmosphere at the restaurant is very homely. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service was exceptional. The food was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Good choice of alcoholic beverages as well. The restaurant has another branch in Musselburgh that has been open for 20 years. We can see why if they offer this level of service and this quality of food there as well. Well done! We will definitely be back soon. THANK YOU!

Our first visit to Gurkha Bar and Restaurant it won't be our last. Incredible service, delicious food, beautiful presentation and a lovely ambience! We felt really looked after and it made our visit very special. Every single dish that we had was absolutely stunning! It's good value too. I would go as far as to say this is one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Can't wait to return to try something else from the menu. Thank you for looking after us 😃

We discovered this new place by chance, and it was an amazing find! From the start it was a great experience: lovely place, welcoming and friendly staff, and a menu with so much to offer that it was difficult to choose what to order. The food was delicious, and the waiter made sure at all times we were happy and needed nothing. From complimentary welcome tasty bites to a sample of after-dinner traditional tea, the evening was fantastic. Did I say the menu was quite extensive? It only means we’ll be back to keep on tasting this gorgeous food!

highly recommend. Affordable fine Indian dining and authentic tasty street food This is not those typical Indian takeaway places in your neighbourhood. It’s a fine dining place providing a large variety of authentic high-quality food at affordable prices. I extremely like their haggis pakora, and it’s like a wilder version of haggis Bon Bons. We ordered chicken tikka biriyani and their typical lamb curry. The biriyani is extremely flavourful with appetising yellow colours and a fragrant herbal smell. The lamb in the curry is super tender and bouncy, immersed in spicy creamy curry. Sadly I heard this place might actually turn into a takeaway place due to the small number of customers dining in. I hope I tried this place earlier and I highly recommend it to everyone who likes good food.
