This is a great vegan cafe. Very tasty meals, cooked and raw options. The staff are really friendly, they seem very passionate and knowledgeable about plant based diets and have interesting conversations about it.

If you’re vegan and u haven’t been here you are seriously missing out. Food is excellent and service is awesome! Had the Falafelwrap and the BBQ Seitan Wrap with a Hemp Tea.

I absolutely love this place and it is currently my favourite vegan place in Edinburgh! I've been here many times and every time the food has been amazing. Today i tired the falafel wrap with spicy sause and it was simply delicious. The food is great quality, very yummy and the prices are very good. Quite cheap for what you get. I have also had the raw dishes and they have been the best thing ever! Only place in town that you can get such good raw food that it's not just salad. I've had veggetti bolognese, tacos and zucchini lasagne! I can't reccomend them enough!😍 Such a treat, especially for foodies. I also love the place as in the atmosphere and the owners are such lovely people. They are doing beautiful job with this place!

Very friendly owners and willing to share their experiences and their knowledge of food and veganism. I found it all very enlightening and probably coming back as they make their own pies and pastries and certain raw desserts! And the cafe itself is quite a relaxed atmosphere~
Definitely can feel a small developing community and how they interact with everyone~ it is encouraging to see~

GrassRoots is an exceptionally friendly, welcoming and fun wee vegan cafe. The coffee is always fantastic and the doughnuts are brilliant. They also have a great stock of other vegan and environmentally-ethical products. Jo and Dean are awesome- GrassRoots is awesome. A must try for vegans in search of a caffeine hit in Edinburgh.

Newly opened completely vegan shop. This place has a good selection of lunches with sandwiches, pies, and other homemade foods. As well as a number of donuts, biscuits, and raw cakes.
Grassroots also sells a range of wholefoods and vegan produce.
That owners are very friendly and helpful.

Super friendly cafe. I had a delicious gluten free raw food cake with some intriguing (and tasty) Cream of Earl Grey tea. Bright, welcoming atmosphere and a very convenient place to stop when in Tollcross.

Most Educative and Friendly Entrepreneurs that i have met in a long time! The prices are so reasonable and the ethos that GrassRoots represents should be a great example for all other hospitality industries!
you are what you eat, and Dean and Jo are as sweet as dates! I am amazed by their humbleness and kindness thank you so much for shedding a lot of light on nutrition and the link between our health and our food! This is my new health store for Vegan cheese selection and the coffee was great! I usually don't eat cakes, cookies but the raw desserts will definitely be tasted in a near future!
