Really love this Grams location. Staff were really friendly and gave us good recommendations, food was yummy and it’s a super cute place. We got the two cocktails and a brunch/lunch item deal which was great value :)

Stopped here for lunch last week. Very bright a colourful shop. Staff are friendly. Had the protein pancakes with a hot chocolate. I couldn’t believe how quickly my pancakes arrived (3-4 mins) and they weren’t your bog standard. They almost looked too pretty to eat (almost). They were very firm and didn’t fall apart when cut into. They were covered with strawberries and nuts and had cashew butter and syrup to pour on top. It was delicious. All the flavours worked so well together. One of the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time. The hot chocolate wasn’t quite on the same level. It was nice but maybe a little rich. Their sweet treats were very tempting so I went for the bounty cheesecake which is vegan and gluten free, I believe, and I also went for the jammie dodger brownie which was recommended by the member of staff. I had the cheesecake first which was tasty. However, I wouldn’t say it tasted anything like a bounty, apart from the coconut. The texture is different from your traditional cheesecake (not nearly as soft) but still nice. I asked about the base of the cheesecake and she didn’t seem too sure what ingredients were in it. The jammie dodger brownie was a great recommendation as it tasted amazing! There was a slight crisp on the outside but the inside was soft and gooey and wasn’t too sweet. Overall, I love how this cafe/restaurant is trying to be different with your favourite meals/snacks but with healthier ingredients. I’ve actually had ideas of having my own shop like this.

I was not initially super impressed with the menu options but the Canadian Protein Pancakes did not disappoint. You could really taste the banana sweetness in the pancakes which contrasted the salty bacon. Sweet and savory explosion! Even asked for more maple syrup on the side since I am a Canadian after all, and they happily served us more. Perfect portion for the price!

I've been to Grams several times and always enjoyed it.
Tip: Try and book if you can, it gets busy.
The cafe food is the best of both worlds, as far as that is possible: decadent and healthy.
For example, vegan waffles, with plant bacon and vegan yogart, but also maple syrup for you to pour.
The building is bigger than the front suggests, even if you peer through the window, as the coffee and cake counter is right by the door.
Tables are clean and good for either two or four people. If you're planning a group visit then there's even more reason to book.
Expect Stockbridge prices, nothing more, but great value for money as portions are good.
Staff are friendly, fast and good.
Toilet doors can be a bit awkward. Other than that; two thumbs up.
[May 22 update - still great]

Fantastic vegan waffle!! Came to do a bit of writing before a visit to the botanic gardens. Thought I might regret opting for a sweet brunch but the Plant Based & Jelly waffle lets you control how much of the maple syrup, cashew cream and jam go into it. These elements are arranged in containers on your plate for you to spread and pour yourself - ingenious + very delicious. 10/10 would recommend! Staff are friendly & it was quiet when I went on a Monday morning.

Cosy cafe with excellent gluten free / vegan options. We ate here twice while saying in Edinburgh for two days over the bank holiday, as the menu was so varied. Although quiet on the Thursday, the place was packed on the Friday, so I would probably recommend booking a table of planning to visit on a weekend/bank holiday. Also dog friendly!

Fancy some tasty filling food that caters for the dietary needs of the majority of diners...
Well Grams has you covered, from full on Breakfasts to Vegan Waffles with Peanut Butter and Jelly (using a syringe shot) will certainly fill all bellys.
The menu is carefully crafted and instead of offer an endless amount of offerings, Grams have created a few select dishes that are full of flavour, look amazing and taste great.
Even after a seating take a quick look at the variety of cakes behind the counter, the thick and sweet Snickers being one to recommend for those with an incredible sweet tooth.
As for turning up, depending on the day it might be worth reserving a table, but for most Monday to Friday sittings you should be fine, keep an eye on the opening hours as Grams caters mostly for day times eating.
If visiting Edinburgh or even a local, Grams is certainly a high recommendation, especially so if you're Vegan or have other dietary restrictions that often limit what you can eat.

Grams was a really nice find on our trip to Edinburgh. The menu was pretty extensive and covered a huge range of dietary requirements. Not only that, but the food itself liked great and tasted amazing.
Inside the shop there’s neon lighting around and the whole place felt really retro and very warming.
I had the peanut butter protein pancakes and they were so damn good. Would absolutely recommend these.
Unfortunately the only thing that loses a star for me was the coffee. I tried 2 different coffees and both didn’t taste that good. The beans themselves didn’t taste particularly fresh and I don’t think they’re using filtered water in the Americano.
Overall, I would recommend and I would visit again. But more so for the food rather than their coffee.
