The Bao Baron

Utterly sensational. My friend took me here after talking it up following a previous visit. He knows his stuff when it comes to great food so I knew I was in for a great meal, but I didn’t realise just how good it was going to be because words cannot do the place justice. I will still attempt to do so using my mediocre grasp of the English language. We booked a table in advance and were greeted and seated very quickly. I had a sparkling apricot drink and we shared a Salt & Pepper Broccoli and a Squash Bao to start with. We both had the Smoked Tofu Ramen for main and a deep fried Bao-nut each for dessert. Every mouthful of every dish was packed with beautiful ingredients combined perfectly to create an absolutely perfect meal. If you haven’t been here already, please correct your mistake immediately. You owe it to your taste buds.

Honestly one of the best meals we have ever had—the bao buns were incredible! The server also was very accommodating of my allergy (even though they seemed busy) and came back from the kitchen with a menu marked with exactly what I could safely eat. So kind and frankly, unprecedented. We’re only visiting Folkestone for a short time, but we plan on going back!
