Absolutely fantastic place. I’m rather late leaving this review as I thought I’d left one when we stayed in February 😂 But I’m leaving it now. My partner and I came here for our first getaway together. The staff were incredibly welcoming without being “too” customer focussed that it comes over as false. They were chatty, friendly, and had good banter and we both felt at ease, relaxed and chilled staying here. The room was nicely furnished and a decent size. What I was over the moon about was the food - great quality at dinner and at breakfast! Good portions sizes for a fab price. The beers weren’t badly priced either, which is always brilliant 😂 10/10 would recommend, 10/10 would stay again.
Booked last minute so took last available room. Room 5; lovely room, very comfortable bed. Shower could have done with a little more power but aside of that - great. 1 member of the team taking orders for food & serving and checking in & 1 member of the team serving drinks; both incredibly busy; however this did not impact our experience just felt sorry for them. All the team were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meal was high quality, extremely tasty and well presented. I would say more staff need to be employed, but appreciate how challenging this is in the hospitality trade at present. Parking was easy, permit provided for by the hotel.
Lovely pub and bloomin tasty grub. Dog friendly. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Will certainly be visiting again!

The friendliest staff, great refurbished rooms and gorgeous bathrooms, a very artistic chef who's food tastes as good as it looks. I chose this picture of my fried egg for breakfast because this was literally the most beautiful fried egg I've ever had the pleasure of eating. A warm and cosy dining room with a proper traditional pub/Inn feel
Excellent lunch, great real ale and fantastic service with the children. Even provided a bowl of custard free of charge. Great atmosphere 🤩
Amazing staff, very down to earth and easy to talk to. No worries about anything we might have wanted. Super accommodating, even with a young child. Rooms were ideal for what we were after and very impressed with the price especially considering the excellent quality of food included.
The room, the dinner and the service were excellent. Great atmosphere in the bar and lovely setting. The bedroom was comfortable and the decor really and facilities very good. A bit let down by the state of the ensuite shower room which needs a bit of TLC.
Comfortable hotel with great bar and very good restaurant in the picturesque village of Hawkshead. The refurbished room was really good with a good-sized en suite bathroom. Pie night on Thursdays is not to be missed. Great selection of local, national and international beers.
First class, dog-friendly pub with excellent food and comfortable, clean rooms. All staff super-friendly. Very useful to have use of a car parking permit for the duration of our stay.

Great meals served here. Staff really friendly and helpful with ideas for drinks. Centrally located, but book if wanting a meal on a night as gets very busy.x
We stayed here as a family of 4, very good value for money, room was massive, breakfast was amazing.
