Although not easy to find, it is truly worth a visit. A bar with a good atmosphere, a wide selection of great tasting keg and cask beers and excellent food at reasonable prices.
What a lovely place! I came across The Corner after a visit to Huddersfield for a meeting and I needed something to eat. I had a delicious stuffed butternut squash and sweet potato fries. They have a lovely wide choice of ales too and I enjoyed a local ale with my meal. The lady that served me was warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome! I thoroughly recommend The Corner if you are in Huddersfield.
Interesting new-ish bar that showcases the beers of local brewer, Mallinsons. Somewhat hidden, just off the main street and a square. Accessed via a staircase, this takes you to the first floor bar. Lively and full of life, this can be very busy at times, so if you want a seat, go upstairs to the second floor where there is much more room. Great selection of cask beers. Mainly, but not exclusively, a younger crowd here. Recommended.
A good selection of beverages can be found here as well as a decent food menu too. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about the well kept beverages they are serving.
Such a favourite spot of ours. A dog friendly pub in the heart of Huddersfield.
Whats not to like?
The venue is upstairs and serves a wide selection of real ales and craft gin. The bar also has a good selection of low/no alcohol beers too. The corner has great home cooked food which boasts gluten free, vegan and veggie for those with dietary needs.
Great beer, food and people (staff and regular customers). The brisket tastes amazing. The Mallinsons’ ales are delicious. They also have tapas at the best prices/quality you can find in England! It is a must if you are in town!
A hidden gem, but access is a problem. Great food, and lots of local beer (not being a beer fan I can't judge) and cider - about £4 a pint. CAMRA award on display. Does have some wines. Nice atmosphere and great blues playing softly in the background. Looks good - clean, cosy. The food is worth going for by itself. Not many options, but tasty and great quality - vegan and gluten free options. The seating let it down - the comfy seats were all taken, leaving dinky stools which made the tables a bit low for eating. Not very comfortable, or suited to the clientele today - my age (40s) and older, several with walking sticks. More chairs needed, I think. Still, it was fairly busy. Unfortunately, up a flight of stairs, so not wheelchair accessible (and toilets seem to be up a second flight of stairs), but nice for a change. If I were a real ale/cider fan, this would be heaven.
I always go in here every time I'm in Huddersfield. The beer selection is amazing. If its busy downstairs there is an upstairs area but it can be a bit quiet and feel a bit like a community hall up there so stay downstairs if you can.
We hired the top room for my mates baby shower, sandwiches scones and a afternoon tea put on by The Corner was lovely. Atmosphere and staff are all 10/10. Thank you so much all of you!!
Great little place for a quiet drink and nice food. They have a nice selection of Real Ales and fresh food to choose from.
A regular meeting place for Town fans before and after a match.
Looks like a tea room when you walk in but definately a Pub
