Finally got round to trying out Grassroots this weekend and was very impressed. I'm not a vegetarian but do appreciate good quality, healthy food, and the Bistro Night menu delivered just that. Very reasonably priced, and it is a bonus to be able to bring your own alcohol at a corkage cost of £1 per head. The food was well presented, fresh and full of flavour. To be honest, I knew it was my kind of place when we sat down and the waitress told us that the cheesecake flavour that night was peanut butter ;-) It was amazing! Excellent service from a very sweet and helpful waitress. Definitely will be returning!
Such a lovely atmosphere, great food and service. There is something for everyone, whether vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. Highly recommend
Amazing vegetarian restaurant and the staff is very good and cordial. It's a sunflower themed restaurant and with various options both for lunch dinner and just a coffee. We had been during dinner hours were we found lot of people and Frankly didn't expect that in Ilfracombe. The soup salad and the main course was amazing and the desert was heavenly.
Went there for one of their bistro nights, 3 course dinner with BYO alcohol, service and food was amazing, really good value too. Would thoroughly recommend and would go again 😁

A lovely little café with a great dairy free selection of hot and cold food. Loads of choices of toppings for jackets, panini's and baguettes. The caramel cake was delicious!
And the little ducks out the back are adorable. Highly recommend!!
Fabulous place.and great food. The lady who runs it is delightful, service was great. I loved little touches like charity jewellery collection and book sale. Had a panini with pepper and stilton and coconut tart. I really enjoyed my visit. I love the decor. Great place and interesting options for all, non veggies will be pleased too.
Searching on a hot afternoon for a different place to eat and found this cafe and gave it a go. Plenty of tasty and adventurous options on the menu, chilled and cool place to spend some time and very reasonable prices, they even do cream teas if you fancy a proper Devon experience. Everything freshly and handmade, the lemonade was delicious. If you fancy something refreshingly different from the seafront fast food, definitely check this place out.
Lovely little cafe. Friendly service, nice place to sit and most importantly vegan cake options! They also cater well for gluten free and had lots of nice looking lunch options. I had the vegan fruit cake which was delicious!
We've been today to this lovely place with our dog. food was tasty and a lot of vegan choices as well, you could make your own sandwich and lot of herb teas choices.

Consistently good and reasonably priced, Grassroots Vegetarian Cafe is the only healthy food kitchen for miles. Unfortunately, Ilfracombe probably won't ever lose its greasy spoon culture, nor its very short working hours habits.
I would strongly recommend this veggie restaurant, even if you're not a vegetarian. The food is really fresh and tasty and there's lots of it. I had the cheese and tomato frittata which was divine with the best salad ever. The restaurant is brightly decorated with beautiful sunflowers on the walls, the staff are friendly and there's a great ambience.
