The Sailmakers

The staff were lovely as always and the service here is always quick! All our dietary requirements and preferences were accommodated - we ordered through the app and then went to the bar to speak to staff about things we couldn't specify there and it was all sorted no problem. (I have a tomato allergy but wanted the rest of the salad on my burger which the app doesn't let you do.) The food here is usually lovely - a good mix between pub classics and their own spin on things - but on Sunday when I visited some of the food wasn't quite as nice (fries a little under cooked, onion rings not as hot as I'd like). I think it was because they were very busy and we didn't order Sunday roasts. It was nothing bad enough to complain about, but just something to note. The flavours were still super tasty and I will definitely keep going here, just maybe not at Sunday dinner time! It is also worth noting that this is a child-friendly restaurant with a play area, so if you're not fond of screaming children that might be something for you to consider here!

Lovely looking pub, nice warm feeling about it. 2 for 1 on cocktails on a Friday between 6-9 which I think it a great offer. The food was nice for what we had. The millionaires sauce is lovely on the burgers. The kids steak I would rather cut up really small or avoid it. They don't cut the fat off during prep which you would think they would? It was already cut so parent error on my part, I didn't check it and unfortunately my son choked. Thankfully my quick thinking husband saved him. The manager (I think she was the manager), was very apologetic and gave my 3 children a pudding on the house which was nice of her. We would go back, just wouldn't let the children have steak again. Theres plenty of parking but it can get busy. Toilets were nice and clean. No issues.
