In love with the new look of this pub!! The back bar looks so fresh and vibrant, with the front keeping traditional and homely. The new food menu is great quality for pub grub and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Great place to chill and have a couple with your friends. Highly recommended.
First time in since the refurb, and I must say it was well worth waiting for, it all looks amazing, the food was great, and the staff was very friendly, if you haven’t been yet I would recommend it
Wow, looks like a small pub, but it’s huge. Very popular with students. Very large car park at the rear. Food and a range of real cask ales. Lots of drink promotions, good food selection with vegan and dietary restrictions.
Lots of pool tables
Front part of the pub is a quiet little place to have nice food and chat with friends. If you go to the back area its huge with a great atmosphere and has all the sports on. Also has a couple of nice pool tables and decent music. Nice food, competitive price, huge choice of drinks, friendly staff. Cant ask for much more.
The gardeners Arms is a really nice traditional pub. The beer is a bit on the pricey side, and the lovely hand pumps they had several years ago have now sadly been taken out. It does serve very good pub food. It's quite a plush cozy interior with lots of TVs for watching sports. There's a lot of outside seating and some little wooden cabins. A deservedly very popular pub, well known throughout the country by countless generations of students.

Was so surprised when I walked through the main doors to find a huge social area at the rear. Ordered food which was perfect and the staff were so very friendly,
10/10 food and drinks.
No wonder it's my lads local at uni.

What a great find! Lovely selection of drinks and the burgers we had were delicious! The customer service was fab and we were made to feel so welcome by the staff
We normally have fish and chips when it is available. Frequently, it isn't. The chips now are excellent whereas the chunky chips previously offered were not pleasant at all. The fish is some of the best we have had anywhere, the batter being crisp and light. Because what we have has frequently been unavailable I know telephone to ask if I can reserve our meal. So fa r, I have not been refused.
I don't drink lager or keg beer and it seems a shame that cask ales are not available as part of any meal deal. Consequently, I have Guinness.
Came in with partner for lunch. We had the Philly steak sandwich and the beef Mac n jack burger. Hats off to the chefs Food was peng 10/10 and the staff were really accommodating and friendly. Amazing customer service and great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning! :)
Love coming here whether it’s for meetings or just to socialise it’s a great spot, big car park plenty of screens for sports, pool tables & fantastic drink offers! Highly recommend

Fabulous food. The pie was delicious, melt in the mouth beef with perfect pastry, a great selection of fresh veg. The staff are obviously very happy here and made it a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended
