After show dinner
We went her after a matinee show in town. I can honestly say that I was very impressed with the building layout, the food presentation, the taste of the food. All the staff where polite and professional. I will be going back next time I am in Leeds.
Exceptional
The service was absolutely exceptional, food was exquisite. I was recommended this restaurant by a relative who had used the take away service, myself and my partner went for our anniversary to eat in, from the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome, all the staff were really attentive and always had a smile on their dial. The food was flavoursome and generous portions. Would highly recommend....if I could give more stars I would
I only discovered Bengal Brasserie nearing the end of my time on the Hyde Park/Burley border. The student area, I find, really does lack many genuinely decent curry houses. Out of the dozens I can think of off the top of my head, only a handful really pleases and satisfies the curry craving.
The decor is very modern inside the restaurant, and instantly, you can see that it is very popular with both locals and students alike. The menu is wide, offering your standard curry favourites, as well as other 'specialities'. I opted for a special, and I was certainly not disappointed. The flavours were good.
There was just one thing that I and my boyfriend were not really sure of about the place. It certainly wasn't the lack of custom, nor the staff- who were very welcoming indeed. It may well have been the lack of complimentary popadoms at the start of the meal. It is slightly more expensive than your average curry (only just), particularly being so close to Hyde Park. Although the food is clearly made with more care and very tasty, my dish tasted very similar to my boyfriends, prompting the thought that they use the same sauce for everything. With that in mind, I would suggest that you go in a group, to disprove this theory, or to the buffet they serve up on Sunday night, to sample more of their flavours.
Quite simply, I've lived in Leeds for 10 years now and have not found a better Indian. The curries are consistently lovely whether you eat in or get a takeaway. And if you go and eat in, the staff are always very cheery and happy to help with anything. I've even been in a couple of times and they've offered us a free shot at the end of the meal - and not because anything was wrong - just because they're lovely! In fact after countless visits and takeaways I think the only time anything was wrong was that they got one order wrong when we were eating in on a really busy night and we'd ordered a good 12 or so meals. And even then they were very apologetic and sorted it very quickly. Love the Bengal!
When I discovered this restaurant for the first time I could not believe I had overlooked it for so long! The staff are wonderful and the food is top notch, the best curry house I've found in Leeds. Its not a big place which leads to a really personal feel and the food is always brilliant. Whilst your bill might be a couple of quid higher than other curry houses in the area the quality is about 10 times higher and completely worth it! They also do takeaway which is just as yummy as eating in. 10 out of 10.
One of my favourite curry houses in Leeds - booking near essential as this place always seems to be busy. Casual atmosphere, staff are super nice and the curries are always spot on. Worth a phone order for take away too. Top stuff.
Had to wait until our table was free as even though we'd booked an early time the place was packed. They gave us a complimentary drink whilst we waited which was nice. When we did get in and eat, the food was plentiful and superb. Cracking atmosphere and service and another complimentary drink to finish. Had food left over so that was boxed up for us. Will go again
On our 1st visit here weren't disappointed 🙌🏾, the food standard was excellent and also the service was outstanding, the owner/manager was friendly and professional....we were given as a gift small pots of our fav sauce from the pickle tray. 👌🏾😋
My son wanted to some curry and never been to this one before. The staff were extremely warm and passionate! The food was delicious and the service was amazing, plus they even spoiled us with free starter and ice cream! Thank you and will definitely recommend!
I had a wonderful experience at Bengal Brasserie. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were exceptional, going the extra mile by offering a complimentary whisky. What truly stood out was their extraordinary enthusiasm in celebrating multiple people's birthdays. They brought cake to their tables and encouraged everyone to sing 'Happy Birthday.' A great place for affordable and friendly dining.
Nice meal with family. Able to accomodate a large group at short notice. Food was nice but biryani was laking in flavour. Would recommend the mango lassi! Biggest fault with the experience was the loud club music being played, very unessary as it was already quite a nice atmosphere.
Booked ahead. As had found it to be fully booked on a weekend. Much quieter in mid week but still half full.
Food and service spot on. My wife said her meal was the best curry she'd every tasted.
Many thanks. Hopefully be back soon.
Been here a few times now and have to say that its a real gem of a place. Lovely food, attentive yet not intrusive staff and really interested in making sure you have a good experience. Good value for money.
Went with my Daughter and friend. I have to say I cannot fault the service, the food, the staff. first class restaurant probably the best curry I have had here in the UK and South Africa. The staff genuinely wanted to make a special evening for everyone. It was a nice gesture of a night cap on the house in fact we were given 2, I would recommend to friends and family to your superb establishment. Please keep up your excellent service.
A fantastic night tonight with friends for my birthday. We went to the Hadden Road restaurant. The food was 10 out of 10. The staff were very nice and polite. Even brought me out a little gift out for my birthday and everyone sang happy birthday :) I will definitely be going again.
First Indian restaurant I've been to in Leeds that served food I'm not allergic to and were willing to check on my allergies. Amazing selection, great quality...which you pay for.
