Fantastic food
Every time we visit Leeds, always come here. Basic inside but the food is always well cooked and tasty. We love Wagamama but prefer the authentic cooking here when in Leeds. Recommendation - try the Chicken Katsu Curry.
The best sushi I've had in the UK! Fresh fish, well prepared sashimi. Will return whenever I'm in Leeds. The noodles are good, but for me the sushi makes a difference. Family run place, and not very expensive.
We wandered around town for a bit last Sunday, at a loose end, floating from record shop to record shop with nothing much to do. Eventually, we got hungry, and stood outside Jumbo Records, uncertain what to do. Leeds is blessed with a superb restaurant scene. There are dozens and dozens of first-rate places to go, but sometimes choosing one feels like those times you’re sat in front of the TV, trying to choose a film to watch from the thousands available, paralysed by the choice.
What a little gem... Fuji Hiro is great, the lady has been raving about it for ages but I got my first chance to try it out yesterday. We'd been bowling in the Merrion centre and as usual I'd kicked arse despite having a bit of an off day only bowling a 161 and a 130 something. Fuji Hiro is tucked well out of the way on Wade lane and looks like it would not be out of place in a film noir movie, very bleak and minimalist inside. Just wooden tables, a bar at one end and the kitchen in the back. I love this kind of place as you know it's all about the food and the food alone. It's a noodle bar so don't expect to find anything too unusual on the menu but do make sure you come here hungry. I'm sure they were trying to kill me with my meal, the biggest plate of Spicy Chicken Men I've ever seen, the noodles coated in a sticky peanut and chilli sauce. The Chicken Ramen came out in a suitably big dish as well with a deliciously subtle savoury broth with it and salad of bean sprouts on the side.
I was here a year ago. Everything was gorgeous. Very delicious. The establishment, although cramped, but it's cozy.❤️
Fantastic place. Ramen noodles the best I’ve have in Leeds. Small and intimate atmosphere. A real hidden gem in the city.
Absolutely lovely food!! The chef prepared the dishes with such care and attention to detail, we were impressed by the presentation of the sushi and bento box, which were delicious 😋
My favourite was the Salmon Tataki, soft in the middle and crispy outside with a layer of sesame seeds! Would order this anytime again!
As a regular @Fuji Hiro I have to say it's an excellent place, great atmosphere, food is delicious and decent portions. Closest to the authentic Japanese food you can find in Leeds! Beautiful presentation! Definitely recommend!
Food was amazing. Staff were very kind and the atmospheric was great! Will be coming back soon 🫶🏽
Amazing food and great staff!
I definitely recommend
Are you looking for an authentic yet affordable Japanese in the heart of Leeds City Centre? Fuji Hiro is your top choice. We recently discovered this hidden gem embedded within Merrion Centre. Upon entering the restaurant, the restaurant's interior immediately transports you to Japan! All the dishes were delicious, served hot and fresh! We can’t recommend enough of their signature Shrimp Vegetable Tempura Soba (Mixed vegetables and shrimp with tempura batter and noodles).
It is very popular among the locals, so call to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. We can’t wait to go back again.
First time here with a party of six and in a hurry to go to the theatre - lovely tasty food for meat eaters and veggies - I loved the Tofu . Friendly service with a smile and good value for money . Would recommend and return - nice atmosphere and thanks ☺️
Can't come recommended highly enough for fans of Japanese cuisine. Truly authentic and the quality of the food is to die for. If you've had ramen elsewhere at chain restaurants, you haven't had it properly until you've tried it here. I'd also recommend having a deep dive into their sides menu for things like yakitori, kaarage and takoyaki, or speaking to them about the new sushi bar they have.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and will usually offer a recommendation if you're a bit lost (the menu is quite large and daunting if it's your first trip). It's a very traditional setup inside (chopsticks & small bowls) although they'll happily give you cutlery if you ask. It's also quite a small venue, which can make sitting larger groups difficult but I've never found any issues.
I used to visit frequently as a student in the city and I always make a point of going whenever I'm back in the city during a year - it's just that good.
I know no one is going to believe this review but I just can’t believe the other reviews I’m reading. This is The Best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve been to many restaurants and honestly, this was so unexpected. The quality and presentation of the dishes are so high above what you would expect from this price range. The service also, the waiter was swift and he could speak every language imaginable. Wish I lived in Leeds to come here very often. Again, the best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. And this is coming from a guy whose never bother to leave a good review anywhere.
