Went here last night for my Dad's birthday, we all really enjoyed our food and the limoncello shot at the end was a bonus :) Had the fried mozarella wrapped in Parma ham for starter which I hadn't tried before and would fully recommend. Great that you have the option to bring your own drink, nice relaxed atmosphere and tasty food at a reasonable price.Grazie!
One of my favorite place to eat and relax with a lovely staff and a authentic Italian dishes
Friday dinner at La besi restaurant near the University of Leeds main campus.
1) Ambiance (0.75/1) - A small and cozy restaurant that can probably house upto 40 people at a time. But they are laid out very neatly and the entire feel is home-like and that of comfort!
2) Food (0.75/1) - We were 2 of us and we had their Pizza garlic bread 🍕 for starters which was different from what I am used to but their tomato and garlic base sauce was packed with flavors! Next we had a plate of Penne Al Pollo (Penne pasta with chicken) in a white sauce with mushrooms. 🍲The portion was decent and the taste was good too. We had two desserts: Torta selva nera - or a frozen dessert with cake sponge soaked in liqour with cream which was quite easily the dish of the night for us🍰😀 and finally their Coppa pistachioa crema which was a cup of pistachio and butterscotch oce creams topped with pitachios and chocolate sauce.
3) Service (1/1) - Very friendly, timely and homely 🤗
4) Innovation and techniques (0.5/1) - If I am not mistaken, this is a family run restaurant for Italian food and inspite of being small in size, they were quite busy! While a few more options or meal deals would be nice, but they are delivering really good food to their customers! They also do 10% student discount😉
5) VFM (0.75/1) - 1 starter, 1 main, 2 desserts between the 2 of us and with the student's discount, the bill was nerly £25 (£12.5 pp) which is quite nice for a Friday night
Overall (3.75/5) - Want a comforting Italian meal for high value for money , visit La Besi Restaurant in Leeds 🍝
A nice place to have meal at near Hyde park . I visited this restaurant this evening and the experience was really good. The environment is very clean and the staff was friendly. I order prawn linguini and that was delicious, the prawns were fresh and tender and the linguini was well cooked and flavored. The price was also quite reasonable. Would visit for another time.
Lovely italian restaurant! Tasty food and good portions! I really recommend the goats cheese starter and canaloni! A £1 charge to BYOB.
Simple, relaxed, unpretentious, good Italian food. I came here for an early, reasonably priced dinner – away from a standard chain restaurant – and it didn't disappoint. The UK needs more places like this.
Had beautifully made tagliatelle carbornara and garlic King prawn starter. Subtly made cheese and very tasty. I took my time. Excellent service.
One of the best Italian restaurants I've met in Leeds! You do not have to spend much money and can enjoy very delicious Italian food, especially when you hold your student card!
Lovely tasty freshly made food from nice ingredients. The seafood pasta is lovely. Not licensed so if you want alcohol bring your own ,you are provided with glasses. Nice friendly Italian staff. Well recommended.
Nice Italian restaurant near the university with reasonable price for students. The food was delicious and the portions were big.
Highly recommend this restaurant, the staff were really friendly and helpful with some food enquiries. Food exceeded my expectations, it was so delicious and authentic. Will definitely be visiting again.
Dine in for the first time. Very nice Italian food. Will definitely come again.
