I was lucky enough to win a cheese selection from these guys. I am a foodie but have never paid much attention to real cheese. Knowing they would be great but not making the effort to spend extra cash that could go to the fish monger or butchers!
How wrong I was!! This selection of 5 cheese was out of this world. My favorites where the Red Leicester and Brie with truffles but all where sensational. I can't recommend Lucy and the team enough. Them is people who know a thing or two about cheese!!! Many thanks
Came for lunch yesterday with our friends visiting from Manchester....what a gem of a place. We sampled the raclette, the reabit, baked Camembert, a cheese and meat board and of course the pork pie with the melted Stilton. Two lovely glasses of port and excellent service. Also purchased some delicious cheese treats to take home. We will definitely return
Oh my goodness, that cheese soufflé was exquisite. If you go here and eat in, be ready for a taste explosion. The owners are very friendly and the ambience is chilled. Totally recommended.
My partner & I shared the cheeseboard, plum bread and raclette potatoes and were thoroughly stuffed afterwards! The food was delicious and portions generous. We particularly enjoyed the smoked Lincolnshire cheese, alongside the potatoes which had lovely stringy raclette cheese melted on top. The service is always excellent and the staff lovely and attentive. The atmosphere and decor is wonderful and relaxed. This and 2 sparkling elderflower drinks came to £45 which was very reasonable!
Been wanting to visit this restaurant for ages and on a whim me and my partner got to do so yesterday (Saturday 23/9/2023) and I have to say that our expectations where meet and exceeded, service, food etc where exceptional, we definitely will be returning here
Second visit, just as fab as the first. Wish we had one in our village! The cheese souffle was gluten free and to die for!
If you love cheese, then visiting The Cheese Society is a must! The little cafe serves some of the most delicious and high-quality meals you can get in Lincoln, and what's more, it's all contains cheese from the shop.
On my last visit I had the raclette which was exceptional. The cheese was perfectly melted and crispy around the outside. The addition of pickles made it perfectly balanced and not too rich. I would also recommend trying a cheese board and the cheese soufflé, although you probably can't go wrong with anything you order.
The cafe has a small number of tables and they don't take bookings, but even on a busy Saturday you can usually you can get a seat within around 30 mins or so if you join the queue. The staff are really lovely and keep you posted on the wait time. There's often cheese of the day on the counter to sample whilst you wait, or the staff sometimes bring this to you.
The selection of cheeses at the shop is also great. We often pick up some of the off cuts from the fridge before we leave, and we always visit The Cheese Society for our Christmas cheese board.
We’ve been regular visitors for the last 5 years and now won’t go anywhere else for lunch in Lincoln.
The service is always so friendly and the food is always 10/10.
Our fave is the goats cheese soufflé :-)
Omg, amazing cheese!!!!!!! You will not find cheese like this in your local shop it is stunning! Fantastic taste, we order and they deliver up and down the country, please try because you will not regret it, you’ll be hooked 👍❤️👌
Infrequently does the description 'outstanding ' come to me but from the second we stepped through the door we were very impressed. The bright bubbly staff, the cheese selection spread enticingly ahead and some superb giftwares caught our attention. A quick espresso and herb scone with cheese encouraged us to return 3 hours later for lunch. Hey guys! These folk seriously know the business of making customers welcome to say nothing of a truly well made espresso and Tartiflette to die for.
This is the kind of place you usually only find on the continent and wish we had more of in the UK. Lovely atmosphere and the "communal" bench works really well and gives it a lovely feel to the place. The food (cheese of course) is great too. The wine menu is very small but works well in this simple setting.
It had cheese. Lots of cheese. Cold cheese and cooked cheese which was incredible. Puddings were very tasty even tough one didn't have cheese in it.
A must stop if you in Lincoln in my opinion.
