The Royal Tandori

When do you give a restaurant 5 stars? Does that mean it cannot be bettered? I give this one 5 stars for value for money. Very good meal for humble money. Seems to be the locals favourite. We had pappadums and chutneys, chicken madras, garlic naan, bombay aloo, tarkha daal and mushroom pilau. All excellent. Nothing not to like.

We won 2 free meals here after they generously donated this as a raffle prize for a local kid's charity, for a race night at The Imp and Angel. They did not skimp on the food despite it being freebie. I had a Shashlik Lamb dish and my wife had chicken pasanda. Both were amazing. My lamb was tender and delicious. Modern have earned us as future costumers. We will definitely go again soon.

We got here a bit early and were the only customers in the restaurant... I think we struck gold as the food was of excellent quality and was virtually coked only for us and was a treat. We went for a Bhuna lamb and a Balti mix . The meat was all nice and tender but the sauces were "da scarpetta" ( sicilian way of claening up your plate with bread - naan in this case) . I recommend this place without any hesitation and will come back if ever in Lincoln again. Come here early and enjoy a good meal.

We were a walk in on Friday early evening. Only people in the place. When we left it was really busy. Really polite waitors who seemed really apologetic to disturb us to take our order. The food was great. Hot temperature wise and hot spicy too. The chicken tikka I had in my dish was a bit chewey in parts but on the whole, a good meal. Will definitely be back. Our only gripe is that we could not leave a tip. In today's cashless society we usually round the amount we pay up so we leave a tip. For some unfathomable reason, although our server had to key in the amount into the card reader, he told us he could not key in a higher amount! Price wise, very reasonable.
