What food they serve. This defines foodgasm.
Be it the roasted cauliflower or each sauce that a accompanies this dish or any other, everything is done to perfection.
If you are in Liverpool do eat here. One of the best meals till date in UK.
Not enough time to judge,
Tried daily special wrap. Delicious.
Cool vibe, friendly service.
Prices balanced with neighbourhood.
Recommend for a quick bite.
Maray is the latest opening at the top end of Bold Street, serving falafels, cocktails and small plates. The interior is dim and bare with a long communal table dominating the thin room creating a lively atmosphere. We headed to Maray for an early evening drink and snack, the prices are quite competitive with most of the menu ranging around £5 for a dish. We had to try the signature falafel bites, this was served with three dips including green chilli, hummus and baba ganoush along with a stack of flatbreads and a token salad. The pick of the dips for me being the chilli. The falafels themselves were small bites which were deep fried, the chickpea filling was nice but they needed to be bigger to avoid being too crispy. We also tried a few other dishes including slow cooked lamb with spinach and turmeric potatoes and an unusual risotto & Parmesan stuffed aubergine. The lamb didn't disappoint on the tender front and broke away under the lightest pressure and was complemented with a deep
Some of the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had. A great selection of dishes, all made to perfection.
The flavours were incredible and the restaurant itself was great to sit in. I couldn't recommend this enough. Staff were friendly too, which is always a bonus.
This is a must try if you're visiting or living in Liverpool.
What a delightful gem of a restaurant. We loved it. Food delicious. Service superb. We didn’t want to leave!
We had heard about Maray via a podcast and we were not disappointed.
Bold Street is a super competitive place and I’m delighted that Maray is competing with the best.
Will visit again. Just yummy.
My photo is the disco cauliflower. It was delicious.
Thanks.
Ideal dinner date with an impressive vegetarian and vegan offering. The pitta redefines what you should be expecting from a Mediterranean restaurant and the flavourful mezze showcase meat free food at its finest. Fresh pomegranate seeds elevate many of the dishes, particularly the seminal disco cauliflower. The full bodied Puglia complements almost everything and I highly recommend sharing as many dishes as you can! One of Liverpool's finest independent restaurants.
Food was very decent but nothing spectacular. Cauliflower was nice but very sauce reliant in taste and one dimensional in texture. Sea bass was crispy but flesh was overcooked.
This restaurant is probably the most flavorful one I have come across so far. They know their spices. We ordered a few dishes and all of them are delicious. Coming from Asia, I did not expect the food to pack this much flavor just like the other restaurants I have visited. But that is not the case with this place. Also, the food portion is quite big for the price and quality. Amazing.
Long-time patron of Maray, normally visiting the Albert Dock restaurant but walking past the Bold Street one ans seeing tables we chanced our arm.
As expected we weren't disappointed, if you want flavoursome tapas then Maray is the place to go. The disco cauliflower is sublime (from someone who hates cauliflower!) and very filling. The crispy fried chicken and aioli is probably the best fried chicken I've had anywhere. Sweet potato chips, falafel and lamb shawarma were all very tasty ans good portion and we also had the quipped goats cheese and pitta which was a nice side plate!
We always go for 6 sides between too because there's too many nice things to eat and occasionally end up having to leave a bit because we're both full. But with flavours this good I want the variety!
Make a booking if you really want to be sure you'll get a table. One place not to be missed if you're visiting Liverpool!
I took my daughter here for lunch, and we both absolutely loved the place.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
It's a little small inside, but that doesn't take away from its charm.
If you don't want to be inside they do have outside seating, too.
So good!
I was visiting Liverpool for the first time in a few years, and Maray was on top of my list for places I wanted to go back to.
The food was still as amazing as I remember and we enjoyed every dish. Service was friendly too.
I’ll definitely be back.
We had a phenomenal dinner at Murray. The disco cauliflower was a particular stand out.
Our favourite place to eat when in Liverpool. The food is amazing and the service is so good too. Have a seat at the counter if you can - it's so much fun. Alfie (hope I've remembered correctly) is so knowledgeable and passionate about the food and drinks - all of the staff are lovely and there is clearly great talent in the kitchen. Thanks so much - can't wait to come back again!
