Amazing!
Took my husband for his birthday last weekend. The service was wonderful, food recommendations were spot on, cocktails were lovely and the food was amazing! Highly recommended and we'll definitely be going back soon!
My friends told me about this place mowgli so i visited there it was an Indian food destination and i was in dilemma thet what to ordered and what to not, firstly i tried street chat yogurt chat bomb or masala omlete wrap, and also tried mango lassi, then ordered mother butter chicken and rooti food was delicious and tasty
We been there for office lunch.
Place is nice, ambience is too good.
Food is bit costly but worth it. Great quantity and mouth watering food.
When missing india away from india. The yogurt gol gappa what we call in india were amazing. Reminded me of mumbai. Always come when miss home
The summer holidays lets me take a break from the day job and spend a bit of time with the family, try some food and write the odd piece. This was the case this week when Red (the wife), Fidget (the eldest) and I popped into Liverpool to do some shopping, followed by the promise of lunch. So after several hours of that bloke thing of standing awkwardly in clothing aisles, trying to not look at the ladies unmentionable sections, wondering why there are no seats anywhere, I even had a look at some clothes, only to wonder why everything is slim fit? I, like many, fit into the ‘well built’ category and, as the country goes through an obesity epidemic, who exactly buys the skinny fit clothes? Where is chunky monkey fit? Dough Boy fit? Rather than the honed ripples of a muscular cheese grater, I end up looking like a piping bag that has been over-squeezed!
England is known for their Indian curries and so I wanted to find one while on travel. Mowgli did not disappoint. Atmosphere is modern and fun. The menu includes small portions and you are meant to order two curries per person plus rice and/or a bread (we ordered roti). The butter chicken was the favorite that we ordered. The house Mowgli Chicken was also good. The house Mowgli Lamb curry was our least favorite and was more like a chili. We also ordered a cheese toast which came with Indian pickles. They were so good we ordered more and mixed in with all our curries. They are super flavorful and really tasty! My daughter ordered butter chicken too and the children’s menu is mild, so don’t worry that it will be spicy like the normal adult menu. Waitstaff was very attentive and made it a great stop!
I was told about this restaurant by my manager and it did not disappoint. The friendly staff and the low key atmosphere provided a good venue for lunch. Having ordered tamarind fried, himalayan Cheese Toast and the mowgli paneer I was amazed by the taste and consistency of flavour in each dish. Definitely recommend
This place Mowgli in Liverpool City Centre is a great place to go if you are really hungry and are looking for some nice Indian Desi food!! The ambience and the decor is very ancient with brick walls and dimly lit orange lights in a bird cage. Speciality of this place is that their food is served in tiffin carriers that gives you a nostalgic feel of school and work days back in India where we pack food from home and carry it along with us during the day. We had ordered the Himalayan cheese toast and chip butty for the starters, panneer and potato curry for main course along with roti. The Mango Lassi is simply out of the world which is why we went for the second time order of the same. My husband tried their cardamom tea which was again mind blowing. The spices and taste of the food were just about perfect. Their Mutter Panneer is definitely worth a try! Moderately priced, staffs being very warm and friendly this place is a good suggestion for weekend lunch.
Found out the place through online research and zomato. Awesome place to go to for delhi chaat! Love their picnic potato curry, temple dahl, yoghurt chat bombs, bhel puri and himalyan cheese toast! Have already visited the place twice in a month!
After being told about Mowgli by a friend who knows the owner (aka Barrister turned chef Nisha Katona) I gave them a follow on Facebook. I watched them take their first steps, from idea to opening (November 2014), and with my interest piqued I couldn’t wait to try it out. Named after the Kipling character of the same name, Mowgli isn’t your average Indian curry house. It aims to serve traditional Indian style street food, admittedly in a slightly more comfortable setting offered at most such stalls in India. The interior is bright and tasteful and has the feel of a comfortable yet edgy warehouse.
Visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend who likes the food here. The food was great especially the starters. The concept is interesting and so is the taste. Would highly recommend it.
Came here for lunch. Good location. The ambience is lovely too. The staffs are friendly and service was pretty quick.
Food was good. It was more like home cooked food. Have seen other Indian restaurants who overdo the indian cuisine with too much oil and spice, and make the food too spicy to eat. At Mowgli, the food was mildly spiced up hence the taste was maintained.
Would definitely recommend this place.
I’ve been coming to Mowgli, bold street since it’s opened. Always amazing service & food! I love all the Mowlgi restaurants but Bold Street is always my fave. We were greeted by Scott who was super friendly & welcoming and managed to fit us in on a busy Friday evening without a booking. We then had a lovely girl take our orders (sorry I’ve forgot her name!) and she was amazing. Will be back very soon
I’ve never written a review before but I had no choice!
Stumbled into this restaurant by chance. By far one of the top meals I’ve ever had! The sticky chicken was beautiful. We also had the butter chicken, prawn curry and lamb curry
I couldn’t decide which one was best they were all excellent. They packed some heat but I’m not a huge fan of spice but it was perfect. Also had the chai rum sling which was incredible so I had two!! Lychee martini was stellar too
Would give 6 stars if I could!
Our waitress was also very friendly
Can’t recommend enough
Heard good things about Mowgli, so finally made a trip to eat at this restaurant. We went before peak dinner service so we got a table straight away without booking. The staff were friendly and the decor inside was very good. I ordered a Mowgli Gin & Tonic with Keema, Rice and Puri. For dessert I got Chocolate Brownie with ice cream. Only downer was we waited a while for our mains to arrive but overall the experience was great
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! Our waitress (Sufya I think?) was amazing too. She was super attentive and made us feel like we’d picked the right place! Would definitely recommend Mowgli!
Great food and good atmosphere, however I did find it quite hard to get service as it was heaving, took ages to do things like order drinks and get the bill. Prefer the restaurant on water street over this one but overall was a lovely meal.
A must try for Indian food 😋 unique authentic dishes, perfect portion sizes, quick service and nice environment.
Wow. Just wow. I’ve traveled and eaten foods from all over the world, and this is going on my favorites list! Each dish was delicious. Simple, flavorful, unique. I have zero critiques(a first for me). We have the Prawn Curry, Lamb Curry, Sticky Chicken, Caluctta Greens, and the Brownie for dessert. The greens were TO DIE FOR. I dream of them. The sticky chicken had depth and held a nice crispy texture beneath the sauce. The prawn curry was delicate and rich in a tomato sauce. A must try.
It was amazing! Very nice food. Great option to try bit of everything. Restaurant is looking good and service is also really nice.
