A wide selection of tasty noodles, delivered quickly at a sensible price. Good veggie options too. Cafe rather than restaurant style. Nothing fancy about this place but the food, while not being gourmet quality, is well made and tasty, service is prompt and friendly and the punters keep on coming, despite the area being packed with other food options. Recommended for lunch when a bowl or plate of noodles is what's required to hit the spot.
We really struggled in Chinatown, first to find a restaurant that was open (it was past 3pm) and then to find one that had even one vegetarian dish. After at least 45 min of window shopping, we were at Big Bowl's doorstep. Their menu had plenty of stuff and we just crashed in exhausted. The point of the lengthy introduction is that if you have dietary (or budgetary) restrictions, please just head here directly. Their combo meals are plenty of food for 2 (big bowl indeed). The veg chopsuey I had was a satisfying dish of noodles and steamed veggies. They didn't skimp on the exotic veggies like cheaper places tend to do. The green apple virgin mojito was too sweet but refreshing nonetheless. An easy choice in Chinatown!
Amazing food, lovely staff and everything kept to Covid 19 guidelines. Can't wait for our next trip here. X
When going to Big Bowl you’re not going with the intentions of dining, you’re going simple because you feel like some ‘cheap Chinese food’ but it’s more then just the monetary value, the flavours suppress and satisfy that Chinese craving you’ve been having all week. Everything we have tried on the menu has been delicious. My preferred and is the actual dish ‘Big Bowl’. Lots of variety and flavours and would fill up the biggest of eaters.
Try switching the noodles to vermicelli and the duck to chicken/pork.
