Trendy industrial outlet where Liverpool's quirky bohemians brush shoulders with southern students and adventurous quinquagenarians. The pricey Fruli strawberry beer is always a crowd-pleaser, and the en-suite pizza parlour does a mighty slice for lining the stomach as well. The Merchant never disappoints.

I've always liked this bar. Had many a good night. I went in today with my fiancé for a lunch break date at Nightcrawlers pizza. Never had an issue before, until today.
Took ages for anyone to come to the desk to take our order. Then when they did, took ages to cook (understandable that it takes time to make and cook) the staff member dropped the pizza on the floor. Therefore, had no food on my lunch break during a long day. Left very hangry and disappointed.

Great location in the heart of the city just a short walk from Bold Street. Nice ambiance with high ceilings and lots of beams and hanging plants. Tables outside to the front and a good sized beer garden to the rear. Nice music mix playing at just the right volume for the afternoon.

Same owner as Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds. Same style and food available. Half price slice of pizza before 7 is great!
