Hyotan

Although this place isn't fancy, their sushi is absolutely terrific and a steal for the price. Their dishes are very fresh and prepared to order, their staff work very hard, and they are great for anything from bento boxes to sushi to curries. This is the perfect lunch place - why anyone would ever go to Itsu when this is around is beyond me. They also have take-away sushi if you're in a rush, but I've never waited more than a few minutes for an order.

Ordered through deliveroo one of their bento boxes and salmon & salmon roe chirashi bowls. Both are the most beautifully presented meals ever delivered to my door. Both tasted as good as they looked, so no disappointments at all. I was very happy to see tamago so well made (and lovely presentation) in their bento box and also pleasantly surprised to find the cucumber was lightly marinated. Very nice touches which made the whole meal appetising not only for the mouth but also the eyes. A very good choice for us and we will be ordering from them again.

Good freshly made sushi - I had the fire prawn tempura roll. The property itself looks like it always wanted to be a shop and hasn’t accepted its life as a restaurant. Casual place that would be great for takeaway lunch or a quick bite to eat. Wouldn’t come for a sit down dinner. Take it for what it is, no complaints. Got pins and needles in my left foot while eating. Hope it’s nothing serious.
