Posh restaurant that was fit for a romantic valentine’s dinner. Centrally located in Manchester at the top of King st. it has fantastic Instagrammable interiors and a food presentation to match. We had live music on the night too.
The waitress seemed new and wasn’t full versed with the menu, some of the items arrived not as described unfortunately even though stated on the menu.. perhaps they ran out of nuts that day.. also some of the desserts (or ingredients) were lacking on the night.
The food was good, with an interesting selection but to be honest i wish it tasted as good as it looked & sounded.. chicken satay was on point!
Had some issue with the drinks and delayed dessert, however the management had prompt and excellent response to these, their proactivity was very much appreciated though, which made these turn into a positive experience.. I wish many more places had such customer focus..
Would consider trying again for another romantic dinner.
We were pretty impressed with Grand Pacific, it was much better than we'd anticipated, so sometimes you can go back, as it was as good as we remembered Australasia to be. I also think that we ordered well, you can't really go wrong with oysters as long as it's high quality produce, but the other stuff was good too. The prices do mount up though, so it's the sort of upper mid range restaurant you might go to with a group for a special occasion unless you're loaded. If you know Living Ventures restaurants, you'll know what you're getting here, they're slick and glossy, but the food for us on this occasion was as I said well realised.
Although the bar is open all night, if you want to eat at Grand Pacific (and trust me, you really want to eat there) then you’ll have to catch the matinee showing as food is served from 12:00 to 18:00. My leading dame and I are greeted by a very friendly and informative usher who is well-versed in the extensive menu, which is a slightly redacted version of the one that’s handed to customers of Australasia , GP’s sister restaurant that is on the lower ground floor of the complex.

The queen of Spinningfields, Australasia has now extended its offering with the opening of Grand Pacific; a contemporary, colonial style bar in the heart of Manchester financial capital.
It can be accessed via a secluded staircase inside Austalasia, this unique cocktail bar evokes the atmosphere of a luxury Pacific beach hideaway with smart colonial style decor in cream and white, a long bar, and a secret tropical garden. With exquisite cocktails as its main focus. The menu is the same as Australasia so you can expect some mouth watering sushi and desserts here. The whole place screams class and panache from every corner. This bar is definitely very unique and reminds me a lot of classy cocktail bars in London or New York. The pricing definitely is very high end as you would imagine and you need to put on some swanky clothes to feel not so out of place here. I can vouch that the food is delicious and so are the cocktails, but that you can find in a lot of other places too so this one you need to visit purely for the ambiance and the whole experience.
Verdict : Great place to visit when you want to feel special!
It is a fusion restaurant that have a twist to Asian cuisine. The food is ok on an average side and always try to include that bit of Asia flair to it, price reasonably decent. The burger is a bit over cooked and the server actually hasn’t asked us how to cook. The desserts were nice and not too sweet. The variety of cocktails are more interesting and fancy.
The seating is in general are spacious and comfy. With super high ceiling the space does give a good vibe. The helper was attentive, polite but a bit rough and generally the staff are friendly and helpful.

As others have said, the burgers were over done for two of our groups tastes. The sea bream and cod was tasty if a little small but overall the food was good.
Love this place!! The food and drinks are always amazing and the service is top! We went with a group of 10 this time and they were always at our table ensuring we had drinks and checking everything was okay. The decor is stunning and gives real classy vibes.

So when we arrived at the Grand Pacific our booking was not on there system even though we’d book it through Google. We were told, they are currently changing over systems so we had no booking. We did have the confirmation for the book however.
We were taken upstairs and offered a complementary cocktail from the maître d' Mark, he then offered a table for 9.15 which was a little late for us, so said he’d call other restaurant to find us somewhere else for dinner. Unfortunately this happen to another couple in the queue behind us. I actually think that we may have both booked at the same time and cause a possible break in the system.
The private dinning room wasn’t being used and Mark asked both of party if we like the share this large room by sitting us and each end of the large table. We happily accepted this offer. The service staff mainly Tashia? We think that was her name was. Was kind and absolute pleasure to deal with. Once in the private dinning room we realised how lucky we were. It was lovely and quiet, even though Mark put the music on we could still hear each other speak, unlike we would in the main dining area.
After dinner, Mark was so grateful that we’d been patient and polite that he give us yet another drink on him. He and his staff went above and beyond!
I’ve read some of the reviews for this restaurant, and I will say being kind, polite and patient gets you much further than being aggressive, unkind and Impolite!

Beautiful place with delicious food. You feel taken back in time, to a different era and a different place. I had been twice, second time I had the spicy Cauliflower, which was really tasty. I would give it 5 stars if the menu would offer a more varied vegetarian selection of main dishes. Still a great experience.
Visited a few weeks ago for high tea and it was amazing, so returned for lunch and still amazing. The decor is fab, like stepping back to the 1920's, staff very friendly, attentive and the service is excellent. Will definitely be returning
Excellent oriental style food here with a very special interior space. The atmosphere is very nice, ceilings very tall with lots of dark wood panelling. Service was very attentive, professional and friendly. Thanks to Andrej for making our engagement celebration very special with.
Great food and atmosphere. A very very sweet hostess made us feel truly welcomed and made the whole experience special. Chocolate trifle is a must-try!
Wow. This place was an experience. We had the sharing platter for 3, was beautiful and then I has the Asian spiced duck cottage pie. My friend had the burger and they loved it. Smoky old fashioned cocktail went down a treat also.
Me and my step mum came here (for afternoon tea) a while ago as her birthday present and loved it. We both said it was one of or the best afternoon tea we had had. The waiter we had was lovely and attentive. The lighting was calming and as I said, the food was really good.
