Great service
Thursday evening was my fist time back to this restaurant since February 2018 and a lot has changed since then. I used to dine here every other month and I was never disappointed... and fortunately, I can say the same again about my visit this week. The fillet steak was perfectly cooked, and the garnishing was fresh and delicious. One of my starters was amazing because of the blue cheese dip that it came with. And my sticky toffee pudding was just perfect. And to top it all, was the excellent service from Marta, who made sure that my visit was the best it could be! Marta made some excellent dish suggestions, and knew when to check if I needed something, without being overzealous, like in some restaurants, and knew exactly when to bring the next course. Overall a great dining experience complimented by Marta's service expertise!!! I will be making a point to visit more regularly now, whether I stay at their hotel or not.
Dined with a friend for dinner. Service started off well but deteriorated towards the end when we had to wait 15 minutes for our main plates to be cleared.
The food was very good. The scallop’s starters were delicious. We both had different cuts of steak for our main course, which were cooked perfectly as requested. The chips failed to impress my guest and I, we have both had far better elsewhere.
The majority of the restaurant is clean, however as it the same area that is used for breakfast, extra attention is required to clear the food down the sides of the leather seating areas.
Loved everything about this place- the food, the staff, the ambience. It’s a perfect date night spot. I absolutely loved the spicy calamari and the tomato soup. The main course steak was cooked to perfection with the chips being hot and crispy to the very last bite. For dessert we had a molten brownie with ice cream which was absolutely gorgeous!! Definitely visiting again.
Great steak and very well assisted by Jitka whom is a very kind person. Rib eye taste is very good To get into the restaurant you need to go inside the hotel and turn right.
Booked in for an afternoon tea here as a part of the spa package next door. Very friendly staff, efficient and helpful. I had vegetarian sandwiches, some with cheese and some with hummus which was quite nice. Good selection of cakes as well. All in all i had a good time.
I didn’t have high hopes for this place after reading some of the reviews posted here. However, we booked it as part of a ‘Date Night’ package with the Macdonald Hotel and I have to say I was actually very impressed with both the food and the service.
I ordered fish and chips and my husband ordered the burger. My fish and chips was possibly the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant - perfectly cooked fish with the chunkiest chips I’ve ever seen! It came with a generous dollop of tartare sauce which was absolutely delicious. My husband’s burger also looked yummy - a proper thick juicy burger, well garnished and with a decent portion of fries.
The waiting staff who served us were very polite and efficient too. I don’t think there’s anything I could find fault with. If I had to be picky about anything I’d say the air conditioning was possibly a bit on the chilly side but it didn’t make our evening any less enjoyable.
The service and food in the steakhouse itself were exceptional. Staff were spot on and it was a lovely meal. It would have been better if the service at the bar downstairs was better though. Waited more than ten minutes to order a drink.... as did one or two other patrons. When we then ordered our bottle of wine we had to wait for it to be opened upstairs- no corkscrew at the bar? Just seemed a mismatch of services
The black pudding scotch egg starter was something special, though I didn't finish the piccalilli (it was nice, just over powering). The steak was really really good, i had the rib eye and they cooked it well with a good crisp outside. All in a great meal, pricey but worth it
This is the 2nd time we've visited this restaurant and on both occasions it has been excellent. The food is perfect and freshly cooked, the service is perfect too, we have been looked after both times by Marta, she is extremely professional, very polite and attentive. We will definitely be returning.
As part of the McDonald's Manchester Hotel, celebrate your birthday or anniversary here and you will be enchanted by the environment and staff service. Costs are higher than average with a compulsory 12% service charge, but you pay for what you get in this world
Atmosphere was excellent, service was great, went here recently and loved it.
