Great ale selection and great food with the secret diner. Friendly staff from the bar and the diner.

Worth a visit for CIBUS pop up restaurant
We have enjoyed a pizza before at Cibus pop up above Fred's, and today went for the launch of Sunday menu. The food was absolutely brilliant. Succulent sirloin and flavoursome garlic and herb spatchock chicken with a good selection of veg and crispy potatoes. It was definitely up there as the best roast we've ever had!
There is a great selection of ales at the bar and the restaurant setting is low key but pleasant with good staff. The chef Giorgio also came round to check in with customers which was a nice touch. We are going again next week
Always enjoy the laidback atmosphere in here and friendly staff.Enjoyed a pint of Guinness £4.20 and as it was St Patrick's day some great live music from queen grace.
Nice little bar with lots of seating. Downstairs, upstairs, rear garden, rooftop terrace, then the front has a couple seats on the street. The staff are nice and the prices are okay.
Rooftop beer garden has heatlamps and a TV and was empty every time I went which is good for a small group of friends. Nice place.
Really well kept ale and the outdoor seating at the front is a pure suntrap. Pizzas are excellent too!

Great atmosphere, great beers and friendly staff
Nice little place to catch up with Friends. There's also a comfortable section. Restaurant above serves food, which they can bring down to the drinking area. That's also screens. Drinks are more reasonable than mainstream pubs.

Excellent beer nice bar but very noisy on the night
Fred’s Ale has a great selection of beers and ales. You can watch a lot of sports, rugby football, etc.
At the first floor there’s Cibus Pizza, where you can find amazing sourdough pizza and great courses. It’s a very kid friendly place, I’ve been there many times with my toddler without a problem.
