This place went miles beyond my expectations. I'd assumed a cosy pub with nice food. What I got was a cost, stylish beautiful pub restaurant with some of the best food I've eaten. The saffron risotto was full of flavour and the accompanying crispy squid perfectly tender. After a couple of recent bad duck dishes elsewhere i was hesitant that maybe I'd just stopped enjoying duck; clearly not - this was cooked spot on, tender breast and a falling apart comfit leg in pastry.
My boyfriends fillet was the 'best' hes ever had, and considering it's what he orders half the time we eat out that's pretty good! We ordered a side of (amazing) duck fat chips but actually we would of been full enough without. Portions weren't silly small like in some high end eateries
Service was also faultless!
Can't wait to come back and get through the rest of the menu, many thanks to all the team x
The food was excellent, great selection of beers and has a great vibe! Service was excellent and all the staff were helpful and friendly! It Was the perfect place to celebrate my grandmas 89th birthday!
Will definitely be coming back!
Thank you!
One of the best food I've had in the UK for its price! Was fortunate enough to get a table during their teeside restaurant week's special (3 courses for 20). Terrine was amazing, reminds me of an asian dish that I grew up eating. It was just the good amount of salt, with a blend of spices 💯 Went for the pork main and it was savoury, not too salty, and the gravy had a depth of flavour that is 💯. Sticky toffee pudding was spot on. Great ambience, great food. What more can I ask for.
Revisited after 7 months and did not disappoint!
Fried baby squid was spot on! Flavourful aioli, crispy squid, with a really interesting sesame and bean sprout salad!
Mussels were juicy, sauce was absolutely amazing!
Dessert was chocolate ganache with banana sorbet. It was a delicate balance between rich velvety chocolate and the refreshing, not too sweet banana sorbet. 10/10!
Excellent food lovely place to visit will be going again.
Very good Sunday lunch. Not amazing, but very good ( see 12:51). Quality beef and nice sides. Good dessert.
Took my best friend for a birthday treat. The service was exceptional maybe a little slow at points but nothing to complain about. After discussing starters with our waiter we decided to have a couple of delicious cocktails in the sun before coming inside for food (decision made due to a slightly over friendly wasp outside).
The starters were delicious, the capers really made the prawn starter. The muscles starter were lovely and creamy.
I had the lamb main and my friend the pork, both were very tender and succulent, the pork crackling was cooked to perfection. This all came with roast new potatoes and green veg.
The desserts were beautiful. A white chocolate and strawberry 🍓 cheesecake like dessert. And a crème brulé with raspberries and all butter shortcake biscuits.
With cocktails each to start, two (med-small) glasses of wine each then 1 cocktail and a ginger beer came to about £161 which considering the quality of the food isn't bad.
Do recommend and I would definitely go back.
Chadwicks Inn Maltby is a real gem of a place. We were a party of 10 celebrating a special occasion. The staff are extremely professional and the service was top notch. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was exquisite so much so that even a couple of our fussy eaters still managed to eat everything and we all left empty plate. A good sign to good food.
Portions are of a good size and the wine pairing was excellent. So compliments to the chef and staff. Thoroughly recommend and 5 out of 5 for everything. I only wish I lived nearby as I'd definitely be visiting more times.
One of me and my wifes favourite places to get some amazing food. Would definitely recommend both lunch and dinner here and they have a special Market Menu which is always fresh delicious food!!
A lovely pub and good service. I was, though, taken aback that, on the market hall menu, if you have the dover sole, chips are a side order that you need to pay for additionally. Two courses for £20 usually makes me think that the customer is, relatively, getting a good deal. Paying additionally for chips negates that in my view. I don't see the point of charging extra for something that is, surely, an integral part of the meal.
Food was amazing - couldn't fault any of it. Dessert of choux bun was out of this world, coupled with a glass of dessert wine and I was incredibly happy.
Taken 1 star off as would have liked to have done the set lunch menu but thought the dessert choices on there were far too limited - cheese & biscuits or ice cream!?! Given the amazing list of desserts available I'm sure there could have been a better option.
Exceptional quality of service and food, Sunday roast best in the area. Loved all of it, and felt it represents excellent value for money.
Visited Chadwicks for a birthday meal, it was a Tuesday evening, the place was fairly quiet as we expected which was great. The service was really great, we were looked after from start to finish by the front of house team. We opted for three courses each of them being cooked to perfection. It's not the cheapest dining in the area or the most expensive but it is by far the best food we have eaten locally, period. A must go see place if you appreciate good food and enjoy a great dinning experience. Chadwicks also do champagne and wine tasting evenings too. A hidden gem of a place.
