My daughter and future daugher-in-law had a double hen do here, they had there own private area roped off with a private bar, the staff were fantastic, especially John and Gary, the buffet they provided was fantastic, nothing was any bother for them. We liked the place so much 11 of us went there next day for sunday lunch. Would recommend any time for a private function.
I live in Sunderland and I used to work in South Gosforth 2005 to 2010 it was a great stopping off point for an after work drink with colleagues. I haven't been in for a few years till Friday.
I must go in more often, it's a wonderful pub.
Cannie little pub 2 mins walk from west Jesmond metro station. Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Clean tidy and so we're the toilets. Wheelchair accessible entrance and toilet. Not bad prices for drinks. Lovely cocktails. Didn't have food on this visit but did browse through menu and think I might be back to try the fudge cake, Maybs share with my 8 year old grandson lol.
Sporty bar, with few TVs and pool table and darts board upstairs. I noticed someone playing scrabble from behind the bar also.

Great pub for live sport currently showing all the televised football, rugby, cricket, golf, etc. Student discount of 20% for the academic year when you donate £1 to charity (one-off donation for the whole year discount). Fair prices and a good atmosphere across two levels.

Working away the area and found this place courtesy of GM. reminded me of when pubs were pubs, pool tables, dart board, and a decent atmosphere. Friendly bar staff and decent grub.

I had a very enjoyable Sunday roast here - the servings were generous, and the food has great flavor. Roast potatoes were really excellent, I'd recommend getting an extra serving on the side. Ambience was good, and the service was friendly. There was a 45 min wait for food, but it was busy at the time. A good spot to watch the sports.
I visited here earlier this year, I live in South Shields and fancied exploring Jesmond. What a beautiful pub this is. I was even in awe at the toilets! Definitely visiting again.

Staff friendly and helpful, aptly named Ice Breaker Pale ale a treat. Clean and convenient for Metro.
Had a lovely meal with the in-laws, and played some interactive darts. Louise in particular was a massive help and gave us great service the entire night.
A decent pub for when sports events are on. Mainly for younger people and students at night. The food is the kind of fast food etc that arrives at your table in five minutes if you like that sort of thing, the beer is good enough - especially for lager - and the staff are friendly.
We were staying on Osborne road but everywhere was booked up ,just walked to the metro and out the other side to this pub. Great find we had a top quality ,full English breakfast,the chef was happy to do us toast instead of chips. Staff friendly and helpful , spotlessly clean .
