Acorn Chop Suey House

Love ordering takeout from this lovely restaurant... food is always on point... The only reasons I am holding back one star is because, they have recently reduced their king Prawn portion in their Fried Rice menu, don't open on Tuesdays (which can be a bummer) and also can be rude when speaking to them on the phone and they fail to understand your order.

Whenever I came up to Newcastle, I stayed in Osborne Road & this was the nearest Chinese take-away. They may offer a delivery service now but I'm unsure. I used to go & pick up our food as the hotel was literally a 5 minutes walk away. They offer the usual dishes you'd expect but also such delights as an extra portion of wok-fried cashew nuts so these can be added to any dish. They also sell such things as Salt & Pepper munch-boxes. The food was very good quality; the counter staff were friendly & efficient & there was usually a queue outside the door, especially at the weekend. They are open daily from 17.00 - 22.00 (22.30 on Fri & Sat) but closed on Tuesday. They also open between 12 & 14.00 for lunch on Thursdays & Friday.

I'm getting sick and tired of writting good reviews about this place, but what can i do. Yet another great meal from acorn chop suey, salt and pepper spare ribs, house special chow mien, chips and a pot of curry sauce. Good portions, well packaged so stays hot. Friendly staff, corvid safe. All in 10 mins at a very respectable £17.20. Plenty for 2 people total bargin. Always go to bed full.... ha ha. Thumbs up👍👍👏😎
