Went with my husband for dinner. Lovely clean place to eat friendly staff. We had the naanbab to share it was so delicious and a very good size portion. We will definitely be back 😊

This is the first time I have been to Gills since they left the old location on Chillingham Road.
What I found was a lovely, new, sparkling clean shop, with exactly the same unique taste that so many have come to know and love in the 25 or so years since they have been in Heaton.
The best thing about the new location is that you can now eat inside, so your meal stays warm and fresh and it saves messing on washing up at home.
The only thing that stops me giving 5 stars is that I would like to see plates, cutlery and salt & vinegar being given to those who do choose to sit in.
I know this is an extra expense and more time cleaning plates etc, but I think it would be a good investment and worth looking in to. I'm sure this will attract more custom.
Either way, I will be a regular with Gills once more. Well done Gills.

Being from the coast a good chippy is crucial and I struggled to find one till I came here. Best place in town for a takeout and my fav since i have moved for uni. The Fish and chips are too die for and it never fails to impress and the pizzas... well they are something else

In here now just had large fish and chip peas and soda.the staff are excellent.food was super ,loads.great to sit in and chill after work.vinegar needs changing cheers.

Just had fish & chips, cod bites, chicken nuggets and curry sauce. It was absolutely delicious and huge portions! Friendly service and we will definitely be coming back!

Ordered 3 14” pizzas all made fresh and ready on time. The pizzas were delicious and piping hot. Will definitely recommend and will be ordering again
