The Rosery Country House Restaurant

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay (visiting Newmarket on a Virgin Horse Racing Experience). We were given a very warm welcome by Allan which continued throughout our time there. We had originally been allocated a first floor room but immediately on noting my mobility issues he very kindly offered a free upgrade to a ground floor garden room which was greatly appreciated. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent - we were served by a very pleasant young girl called Freya who also deserves special mention for her enthusiasm and good humour. The full English breakfast the next morning was the best we have ever seen - the only complaint would be that there was too much of it! The variety of food on offer on the table was incredible. All in all, a very enjoyable stay - well recommended.

Stayed one night while our one of our dogs was having surgery in a local vets. Our other dog was made to feel very welcome including being allowed into the bar area where we had our evening meal on a table setup specially for us, while the other guest were catered for in the restaurant. All the staff were excellent in particular Rob and Allan showed great customer service and allowed us to remain in the hotel while we waited for the outcome of the operation the next day. The meals were excellent especially the vegetables, kudos to the chef. Lovely breakfast. The house and grounds are lovely and has very period character. Only issue was the loose flags in the carpark which made a noise when cars ran over them but probably only an issue if you are in separate coach house rooms. However every thing else was excellent.

For the price you will not find better. Rooms are dated but the decor in the rooms make them very well presented. Staff helped us if we ever needed anything and they were bright and cheerful which is always nice to see. The garden at the rear is very attractive and on a hot summers day looks like it it would be great to sit out in. Any negative comments should be ignored as you won't find better for the value. We will be staying here again whenever we are in the area. Ps - little one didn't wake up once in the night so another positive.
