Just finished a round there today, course was one of the best I've played. What was even better was the customer service, from start to finish it was the best I have ever experience in 20 years of playing golf all over the world. Hats off to the team that have created this special dynamic.
Absolutely fantastic gold course — Ryder cup was held here in 2010. You can see the autographs of players who participated in the event!!
Fantastic course, in great condition, with one exception, the bunkers were not great and in places lacked sand.
I'm still giving 5 stars as I believe it will be rectified. The course only opened 10 days ago, post lockdown.
Course in fantastic condition.
Would like to see course marshals to move groups on as it took nearly 5hrs to play as a two ball behind an uneducated 4 ball.
All staff very helpful. A great golfing experience
Superb venue makes you feel like a film star from the start of the golf adventure to the very end of the adventure
We were very well looked after, the course is fantastic but was very wet, which made it very difficult
One of the best clubhouses you'll go to. Loads of Ryder Cup everywhere you look and really gives you the feel you're following in the steps of some greats.
The only place on the Celtic Manor that you can get any Twenty Ten swag. Prices are about what you'd expect.
Absolutely fantastic, we were treated like royalty by all the employees of Celtic Manor and the course was immaculate, cheers Greg.
Fantastic Club House overlooking the 2010 course, when you arrive you have a dedicated locker with your name and free use of the facilities. You may be next to Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy or else someone famous. There's photo opportunities everywhere inside and out. On the outside where they pick you up to take you to the 1st Tee there's a board with Tee Times marked out and when you come back in, on your Tee Time there's an enameled engraved bag tag with 2010 and your name. (You're not told this) which you can take. Also (not told) if you have cakes or biscuits in the buggy anywhere on the course the Crows will fly in and take them. A fairly flat course with only the last 2/3 holes being up hill. Greens are quick but dry (couldn't hold a green) fairways and rough very muddy in places. If you decide to use a buggy you can only drive on the cart paths some fairways are 100 yds wide, this is the easiest to walk, be prepared for a 5 hr round. Personally speaking we found The Montgomery course alot more difficult but more enjoyable.
Everything about this place is 5 stars, probably actually 6 stars. What a track, amazing facilities, historic venue. Top class!
