Surf Town Coffee Company

Located right in the harbor on the main boardwalk, Surf Town opens at just the right time on a Sunday morning. Spousifer and I got mochas (mine plain, his Mexican) which came out hot and delicious. If you’re looking for a quick cup, this might not be the place for you. Our server was very talkative and gave us lots of tips about the local dining scene. They were very nice and we actually ended up taking their advice on dining at Local Ocean! Next time, I think I should get a fancier drink because the Mexican mocha was definitely tastier than mine.

I have been a Starbucks drinker for years and usually can't stand private coffee shops. I stopped off here because I needed coffee and I couldn't believe how good it tasted. I would drop Starbucks in a minute if this coffee shop was near me. Everyone in my family was laughing because they have never heard me say that. I will definitely be back when visiting Newport.

I have been drinking Stay Positive for 10+ years. Quite honestly, it is the best coffee I have ever had, no bitterness at all just smooth and bold. Now that I live in Central Oregon, I either pay a visit to the Coast or order online to keep my coffee on hand. I have tried many other brands over the years, but I ALWAYS come back to Stay Positive!

Firstly, despite the winter temperatures, Surf Town had their roll-up garage door open, which is very considerate during the Covid pandemic. The barista was very friendly and accommodated my wife's request for a piece of fruit with a banana they would usually use to make smoothies. We ordered a Mexican mocha and dirty chai, which were so satisfying to drink on a winter morning. Lastly, we decided to buy a bag of coffee to take home. When the roast master overheard us, he said he had just finished roasting a batch and went to the back of the shop to get us a bag of the fresh stuff! We had a very positive experience here and hope to come back the next time we're in Newport.
