What a cracking pub. Plenty of real ale, served up by really friendly and sociable staff. Also does excellent food, none of your usual pub grub, the chips are to die for!
I'd recommend this hostelry to anyone visiting Nottingham.
Not often I give a 5 * review, but this is an amazing pub, a real pub if there is such a thing these days. Friendly staff, amazing beers, a back bar that blew my socks off (a selection of whiskeys I've not seen out side of scotland). If your in nottingham at least have one in here.
Another great castle rock boozer with a vast selection of beers. If you’re into whiskey there’s loads of that too.
Always very chilled and offers a good respite after wandering along Mansfield road.
Fabulous little pub with a wonderful garden on both hot and cold days. Excellent selection of beers as you can expect from Castle Rock, as well as a great selection of other tipples if beer isn't your thing.
Loved it here! Great, spacious outdoor area, nice little nooks to sit in inside. Bar staff were really friendly too.
The food is so gastro exellence, it's hard to understand how. Superb.
Ale fans get the great castle rock beers.
A truly magnificent pub.
First time here this afternoon. Sat with a friend in the back room and had a Sunday roast of beef. Beautiful roast dinner with an al dente Julien of veg. Superb gravy of a superior texture, flawless beef and spuddies and whatever you required in the way of sauces. This pub came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. Nice crowd in here and real ale type atmos. I felt safe and ok in here as a woman. Lovely garden and conservatory bit. Very nice venue.

Lovely pub, always a wide selection of guest ales (a rarity for most Castle Rock pubs), a great beer garden, good atmosphere and some interesting regulars!
One of the best Sunday dinners I have have thanks to Deb. The service at the bar was brilliant very helpful and friendly definitely worth a visit, no doubt about it I will come again.
Fantastic place, staff are welcoming and friendly. Great selection of real ales that's always changing and the regulars aren't half bad to chat with either.
Good drinks. Nice old- fashioned non-open-plan complicated layout. Very helpful staff.
