Stopped here for a meal on our way home from Nottingham and having never been to a Stonehouse before so was unsure what to expect. The staff were friendly and helpful with knowledge of the menu which is always nice to find. Food at The Gap Inn was very delicious we had a selection of dishes to try. The only dish that I didn't rate was the Salt n Pepper beer battered mushrooms as they didn't taste of much other than mushrooms but everything else was spot on. The pizza's are definitely a highlight as the one we had was absolutely fantastic full of flavour and a nice fresh tasting stone cooked dough.
Food was fantastic. Great value, friendly staff. Nice play area outside for kids. Definitely be back.
Amazing food, have been there twice now, both times were flawless, very clean establishment and friendly staff. Food is not what I would call expensive, brilliant value and quality for the money spent there. Will definitely be going again.
I had a small carvery,choice was good, roast potatoes were the best I've ever eaten at any restaurant, very tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Partner had Pepperoni pizza, he rates them better than any shop or store ones. Toilets were spotless and fresh smelling. Well worth a visit.
Massive thanks to Kels, Jess, Cat, jago, Mid, Munch, and Ben for making our evening go so well. It was my nans 80th birthday, and she had such a great time, and your service and the quality off the food made that all happen. So again, well done, guys, big thanks. You did the pub proud
Food was absolutely delicious, didn’t end up going for the carvery and had burgers instead! And Was perfect! Deserts lovely too! A bit of a longer wait than most places for both mains and desserts but you don’t mind waiting when the food is good! Lisa was lovely and looked after us during our visit!
Have just been to the Gap Inn and had one of the best Pepperoni pizza’s ever, along with a great pint of John Smiths. My partner had a carvery , which was excellent, succulent Turkey, variety of veg and the roast potatoes were brilliant (she let me have one lol). The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the visit, Thank you for a very good meal, it went down really well as a birthday celebration!
The Gap Inn is a quick stop for a meal. The food is fine, and steadily busy. The experience could be better if the staff were a little bit more friendly, as they all look unhappy, and this affects the atmosphere. 😞
Have visited The Gap man times now and have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. The 4 of us all had main courses and drinks. I opted for the carvery and as usual the food was excellent. My only gripe would be about the chef who was serving the meat. He really looked so unhappy for some reason which resulted in me receiving a wafer thin slice of beef. I didn't complain as he did look quite angry. There is normally a young man performing this task who always is polite and sociable, please bring him back , a customer does not want to see a miserable face.
We had 2 standard carverys 2 drinks for under £25, for the money the food was excellent it was good to taste beef that wasn't dry. I would definitely recommend this place for somewhere to stop during your journey.
