Roast pork. Amazing. Vegetables aldente. Roast potatoes in duck fat. Ample gravy. Swede and carrot like mash was delicious. Hiding in their somewhere was a pernod like flavour. On the crackling I think. It was divine. I'm so impressed I've ordered dessert and ☕️. Best Sunday roast I've had I ages. Staff are wonderful. Yum 😋 Went back a week later for roast chicken. Really good.

Comfy pub on a rainy day. Leather arm chairs, high top, in & outside seating. Excellent service, beer choices.

Family of 5. £200. Visited Angel before, but this was our first Sun lunch. We all enjoyed the food & the quality perfect. Friendly, helpful staff. Only slight disappointment was no Fish & Chips & cauliflower cheese. My wife loves fish & chips but she enjoyed the Wellington roast. Overall a great time.

Met up with a best friend for lunch, such a lovely ambiance (bit of a pretentious description but can’t describe it any other way) relaxed, smart and clean The food was out of this world, my friend had monkfish scampi, obviously made from scratch, and I had Trout with Cornish mids, samphire and the most amazing sauce This is pub food on the next level. We will be returning many times

Our favorite pub in Oxford… loved the DELICIOUS food, very courteous staff, the leather chairs by the fire, the cheerful customers and …. the beautiful adorable dogs, Cody and Scooter! It was the totally pleasant, relaxing experience and we will be back before we leave to go home.

Friendly staff, good choice of drinks and food and all good quality. What's not to like!? Update: I visited yesterday with quite a large group. The food and service were amazing and we love the glass shelters in the garden. Excellent all round!

Attended on quiz night - it was a great atmosphere! Fish and chips were yummy and big enough for two!

I’m always pleasantly surprised when we go to a pub in England and find really delicious, high quality food and friendly service. Very different from the pubs in the US! We had the fish and chips and chicken sandwiches and both were so good. The bartender/server was also so friendly.

Great welcome, we reserved a table online. The spot was perfectly positioned for our dog, along with water bowl and treats. Sunday Roast and sticky toffee pudding were fabulous. Staff looked after us very well. Loved it!

From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive, we were shown to our table by Nick who also made Charlie, our new Spaniel, feel welcome. The general atmosphere was pleasant with a gentle buzz of conversation overlaying the background music. The food was exquisite, for starters the bhajis proved a popular choice with scallops being praised by one of our party. Roasts were the clear winner for our mains, with one braving trout for the first time and another having the fish and chips, none of us were disappointed. Desserts were delicious and Charlie got to try some tidbits of roast beef too. Overall we were very impressed, so much so that I tried to tip not realising service was included. Will definitely visit again when next we are in Oxford.
