Hi all, I visited Rowes bakery on the Broadway Plymstock to buy a large Steak Pasty at a lofty £4.50, I wish I hadn't. The pastry was poor and the mix undercooked with little or no seasoning. The steak was minced, not chunky pieces that you get from a butchers. I binned 1/2 which for me was a first. Doubt I will ever return.

We visited today on Saturday 30th October for a late lunch and was greeted by the older member of staff with short hair. As soon as we entered she seemed pretty disgruntled as she had to stop sweeping the floor to serve us. Slightly more disgruntled that she had to wait 2 seconds whilst we chose which flavour pasty to have. However she saved her showstopper customer service until last …………… We dared to swap our Danish pastry to one with like all the others in the cabinet - with a cherry on. Now I know it’s only a cherry 🍒 but I love Danish Pastries, and the cherry for me is the best bit. My Danish looked naked compared to its friends. She snapped at my husband in front of the other customers and sharply said he couldn’t swap it because ‘he had touched it’ (it was in a paper bag untouched) He replied ‘But you’re the only one who has touched it’. Now, if I owned that bakery I would firstly get my staff to have chosen a complete Danish to start with. And secondly I would have swapped it for the customer immediately, even if the other one had to be disposed of. Because of her rudeness I returned to the counter and said I wanted a refund which she then processed. But it made no sense and I just don’t get it! She’s no better off and I left thinking I’d never go back in there ever again and I wished I had read the other Google reviews first!

Why would you even sell me a burnt and charred on the inside pasty? Only they sell my fave almond slices, even tho I saw a fly on them once. I put up with a lot and still go there, it's almost like a toxic relationship This is my love letter, hopefully they will change for us..

My elderly mother with a mask exemption card saw a friend sitting outside having a coffee so stopped for a chat (standing) and did not go into the bakery nor buy anything was harassed by the shop to wear a mask outside and also told she must fill in a track and trace form, after refusing because 1 she isn't a customer 2, its open air and 3, its not law she was told by the staff she is now banned from the shop for life. You are a total disgrace and power hungry! This is not how you treat people!

I think they have the best pasties in Plymouth. I like how their product is flaky but not crumbly, moist but not greasy, cooked just right, spiced just right. There are many pasty shops in the region and most are very good. But if I had to name the best one, it would be this one. BTW, there's no point arguing about which is THE best pasty shop, because it's a beautiful thing to have so many different varieties from which to choose. The ONE thing I don't like about Rowe's is that they charge a lot more if you choose to consume your purchase on-premises. Well, that's actually a blessing in disguise, because there's nothing quite as good as a great Cornish pasty at home.

Don’t visit here for coffee. Truly awful coffee. Latte a mug full of milky water, no taste of coffee. Americano had to go back as had no coffee taste. Asked for it to be replaced & for put less water to be put in. Watched the lady make it & saw how quickly the coffee ran through on their barista machine. Mentioned this to her, ‘we’re not Costa’ was the reply. No point in having ‘hand roasted in Cornwall’ on your coffee cups if you can’t taste the coffee 😳 Try calibrating your coffee machine 👍

Awful, truly awful. Clueless staff, the woman behind the counter obviously hates her job and honestly looked like she was about to jump off a cliff. The filled baguettes are disgusting, made with the cheapest ingredients and soggy salads, literally thrown together with zero care. This is a bakery SO WHY DO YOU USE THE CHEAPEST PART-BAKED ROLLS for your baguettes???!! YOU ARE A BAKERY OR HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN?? There are plenty of other nearby and much better places, avoid this
