Fish Lounge

.We came across this restaurant by accident during a day trip to Plymouth.i think this was one of the best surprises in terms of culinary experiences I have ever had. We thought we were going into a fish and chip cafe but were shown into an elegant and tasteful restaurant at the back. Two of the party opted for the set menu which consisted of oysters in white wine and cream and Dover sole on a bed of samphire. I had the cod, grilled with a salad. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. This was fine dining at its best, but with cafe prices. We can't wait to come back. In fact we will be visiting Plymouth again solely to have the opportunity to eat here.

I went here with a group of friends on Bank holiday Sunday evening. Although it was quite empty we had a great time. The food was amazing with brilliant hospitality not just service from the young gent who was serving us. Every course, that arrived within good time from each other, were presented perfectly. The portion sizes were fantastic, perfect for a 3 course meal and the prices reflected well on what was being offered. The main thing I can say is, if you are looking for an affordable, high standard of food visit Ocean Lounge. Brilliant will be recommending to anyone who wants a suggestion of somewhere to eat.

Fantastic! 1st time here! Had takeaway but sat on tables provided outside the shop. Price very decent - £8!! Portion size very generous - could quite manage the whole lot as I was so full! Fish batter was lovely - nice n crispy, and the fish was cooked perfectly! Very succulent not dry. And the chunky chips were crunchy and very tasty, too. Defo go back there! Cheers, me dears!

Went yesterday for a special lunch -and we were not disappointed! They have only been open a week as a fish restaurant! Husband had the sea bass -superbly frilled while I had the lemon sole with parsley butter ,spinach and black eye beans .Fish was cooked to perfection! Service was excellent and knowledgeable with wine choice to compliment our meal .Excellent value for money! Would highly recommend seeking this place out on your visit to the Barbican ,Plymouth!
