The food is fresh and delicious. Great atmosphere, we always come here first after arriving in Southsea. It soothes our tired hungry selves after the red eye. Writing this review and calling the food to mind is making me want to go back tonight for dinner!

Service could have been better in that it took around 15 mins to take our drinks order, though the place was busy. That aside it was all good from then on. Staff were polite and courteous and the food was excellent with a varied menu. This was my first visit and I found it to be a nice atmosphere, good value and good food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Visiting the area and was looking for a place to eat. Looked through the window and it looked very inviting and the menu looked good. You could see and smell the food cooking. The staff were very friendly and the food tasted amazing. Would definitely come back to this restaurant and would recommend to people visiting the area.

Nice service .Very respectful staff... They are opening the door for you when you are getting in and going. They are grilling the meat infront of you so you can see that is fresh.
Turkish food is one of the best choices and Istanbul Restaurant is one of the best in Portsmouth.

The food is so good here; meat is well spiced, cooked, tasty and tender!
The bread with sauces and pickled veg to start is a nice touch and not to be sniffed at. The hot sauce is amazing.
I loved all parts of my meal and the taste of the smokey charcoal grill really adds to all items on the plate. The rice, unreal.
Definitely recommend this place, it offers great value, friendly staff and good ambience.

What an absolutely fabulous meal we had tonight. We were there for a birthday meal and it was a table of 5 of us. Everyone's dishes were beautifully spiced and cooked to perfection. Everything was really really tasty and very moreish. Service was excellent, just what you would want, they were "there" but not hassling. We were very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
