This quaint out of the way pub is well worth a visit. The pub is usually busy with walkers and dogs so maybe worth booking. The menu is extensive and food well presented and delicious. Friendly staff and atmosphere
Spent a lovely evening in the Queen Vic last night (Tuesday). Had a great meal of Home Cooked Faggots. Mash and Peas which was excellent.
The staff and landlord were very warm and welcoming along with the wonderful old world feel of this Mendip Gem......All in all I highly recommend the Queen Victoria to all who would like a meal or to those that want a warm friendly place for a drink.......shame there isn't more stars to add to the rating........and this is coming from a Landlord and Landlady of a pub in Wales .(Y)
A cute village pub offering food, drinks plenty of seating indoors and out. An extra outdoor seating area and bar for busy days or events and a children's play area. Carpark and customer toilets, dog friendly and disabled access.
We came in twice over our caravan weekend at the nearby site: At first glance it looks like the sort of local's pub where visitors won't be welcomed, but don't worry - the welcome was excellent, as was the food and the atmosphere. We had a table right by one of the fires, and even though the pub was packed our food came quickly and was well made.
If we are in the area we will definitely eat here again.
One of our favourite pubs. Great food and welcoming to musicians. Fabulous atmosphere. Many different areas styles to sit in.
Lovely old pub with lots of character. Plenty of seating outside and even across the road for when it's busy. You can stay there. We sat next to a fireplace with a huge wood burning stove, thankfully not alight on a summers day.
Service was definitely with a smile.
The only downside was one customer who droaned on and on in a loud voice.

We arrived just after 2pm to be told the kitchen was closed, but they did offer to make us some cheesy chips which we were very grateful for! My disabled mother-in-law was more than able to make her way through, and the carpark had plenty of space.
The staff were lovely and welcoming, and the fire was very warming on the cold autumn day!
Plenty of space, lots of tasty drinks on menu - and I guess in a warm day you could sit outside!
Will definitely come back again.
We only had a drink there but I was impressed.
The outside dining and drinking area was to a very good standard.
The inside decor is of a country pub with various tools of old on the wall.
The bar service is good and the choice of local ciders and ales is impressive.
I wish that other gastro pubs were this good.
Friendly, characteristic pub, good beer and food in a fabulous location. We had great service from the two lads in charge. Good selection of food on the lunchtime menu, many quite traditional, well presented and tasty.
Always enjoy visiting here …excellent service and friendly staff. Lovely home cooked food and a good range of menu choices. Clean and well presented
Beautiful pub, beautiful food! Very friendly. As a lone female travelling around i find it a little intimidating eating out alone sometimes, but this place was absolutely lovely. Very generous food portions and very tasty. Will be back again!
Lovely home-made food and friendly service. The little sheds to eat in were a hit with the kids.
Playground across the road was awesome. Nice selection of local ciders. Not too expensive either.
Well worth trying out
