Gorgeous little village pub, pays to book to be on the safe side as its very popular but we were early so there was plenty of room for us. Been here a couple of times now and have never been disappointed with the food. Everything is homemade including the desserts. This time both my parter and I had the steak pie with veg and chips. The pie is always full of filling and the pastry is lovely, with a jug of gravy on the side. The staff are lovely and told us about their takeaway cheesecakes when we said how full we were. Would be rude not to so we took a slice of rocky road cheesecake home and wow! Just as amazing as the meals. Definitely one of our favourite local places to eat. Update - been back again and tried the Pie of the Week, which was minted lamb and potato. It was delicious, well worth a try. We were too full for dessert again but took home a bit of mint choc chip cheesecake, which also did not disappoint! Also brought friends who also can't wait to go back to try more on the menu.

Arrived early 12.15 started filling up quickly would recommend booking in advance, when I asked what's the pies like the bartender replied "best pies in the world" now a pretty bold statement I must admit it was absolutely amazing really enjoyed it probably best pub food you can get. Also had the chicken strips they was very tasty tasted homemade pretty sure everything on menu is. Really nice atmosphere and layout scenery inside an out beautiful so lucky to be close by will be coming back here... ALOT! Thank you

I've been going to this beautiful off the beaten track country pub for about a year now.. I've since introduced numerous family and friends and we all love it... I braved the jamming night on a Wednesday alone and was made to feel one of the crowd instantly, so grab your musical instruments and head on down for about 8pm...I don't play so I sing along .I've also joined Rotherham motor club as they have their meetings there on Thursday nights too. The pub has lots of history to it, Andy the landlord told us all about it one day whilst waiting for our meals..the main bar area's 250 years old and was a part of the Wentworth estate many moons ago..very old rural quaint pub with open fires when cold, a large beer garden with plenty of tables overlooking Wentworth rolling fields…and big car park, leave to the right-hand at rear car park if driving ( mirror on wall across rd to help with blind bend ) way safer than leaving to the lefthand side when sat in car park. What keeps pulling me back is the smashing friendly staff and the home made food, the pies are the best in the world Andy says! I'm not a chip fan but I have a slight obsession with Jeans chunky home made chips..at a guess I'd say triple cooked chips.. I'd be happy with a big fat chip butty me haha..We've tried numerous things on the menu and our favourites are the Tikka naan sandwich with the best chips I've ever had!....and my new love is the Halloumi burger with salad, chips, salad and sweet chilli. The fish and chips and steaks are on my list of favourites too! All the food has been consistently good and red-hot when delivered, waiting time is swift too. They make a small range of home made puddings too which are freshly made daily! You don't have to book, but I always do now to save a wasted journey, as many times it's been full of well fed happy customers. I've seen people walk in before and question why they're saying they're fully booked when the tables may seem empty, obviously some people don't understand what table reservation means.... just because it maybe empty as you walk in....odds on the people who have booked will be walking in very soon, they'd hardly give a table up to have to move you mid meal..... some people's black and white thought process always bewilders me . What I really like about this pub is that dogs are allowed in the other side away from the dining area, I've noticed it's a regular stop off point for ramblers and the pub provides shoe covers for the sludgy days. There's no steps to climb and have a large disabled toilet to the left hand side of the bar...I'll be attending the "Bayfest" live event this year as last year sounded great fun. Lovely place, all the staff are very friendly ...and the chefs are real chefs...not microwave warmer upperers like most places now!.. prices are reasonable, portions are....well I'm still stuffed at 7.30pm and we was booked in at noon haha. Always happy when visiting this establishment.

Everything I want from a country pub. We went here for my brother's anniversary and preordered food. All the food was served promptly and was homemade and absolutely delicious. The homemade pies were a particular highlight. Service was friendly and helpful and the interior was cosy and inviting. An almost perfect pub. The only thing I would like to see is a small selection of craft beer on tap for example but other than that a stand-out pub. Highly recommended.

Went for a family dinner and it was amazing. Food was all homemade and definitely better than average. The drinks were also great. Had asked for a gin and tonic to find they had 14 different gins available and a great selection of tonic waters. Highly recommend this place.

Food is always amazing. Portions are a bit too big for me but I'm sure other people love that. Cozy pub, and the bar staff are lovely. Very friendly, helpful and polite
