Viraaj Restaurant

An award winning restaurant, and you can see why. I'm not a curry kind of man, but I've got to admit the food here is amazing. They understood I am a baby when it comes to spicy food and sorted me out a lovely Korma, add a little Indian cheese, and you've got curry perfection. I've been in a few times, and nothing is too much trouble for the team there. Can't rate the place enough.

TLDR: Really tasty food, extensive menu, friendly staff with great ambience and good value for money but unhygienic practice noted, so cannot rate it 5/5. We went here for a birthday meal as Viraaj had recently been named as one of the nation's finest and managed to book a table for 8 on the day. As it's on a high street there is no dedicated parking, but you can park by the roadside. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and well-dressed, helpful staff. There was one chap, likely the manager who was especially cheerful, which is always lovely to see. Alcohol is served in house. The menu is extensive and the food was really tasty and very reasonably priced. It's easy to see why this place is so highly treasured by those in the know. A lot of dishes are rated as "hot", but I didn't think the "medium" dish was too spicy at all. Online, Viraaj has a food hygiene rating of 4 and I'm sure the food is absolutely fine, but we sent two glasses back with lipstick on and I saw the waiter clean a plate with his finger before handing it to someone at the table - at least use a cloth, guys!
