The meal was awesome and the service was excellent. Cafe 129 was not your basic cafe. The chef out did himself with the chicken marsala and the scallops with mango salsa and seared shrimp. If your in Sheffield IL, it's worth the stop.

I've mixed emotions about this place. Overall nice little establishment but a little over priced for such a limited menu. Portions were ample. The Goulash dinner however was the highlight of the evening....... very good I must say and wish I had ordered it instead of a burger and fries. May stop again if we're in the area again. Staff was friendly and polite.

ZBest Lives!! Not sure why there isn't a listing, but the chef still owns Cafe 129, still located in the same storefront.
This is not small-town eats. Chef could open an establishment in Chicago's or Bucktown and not stand out. Ingredients are impeccable, flavors are clearly designed and dishes are never just repeats of comfort foods.
