Garden Restaurant

We stayed a few nights in Southampton for a holiday. The first evening when we arrived we had dinner in Garden Restaurant. And we ended up having dinner every evening in that restaurant for the rest of our stay. The food is very delicious and authentic. Service is also very good. And the price is very reasonable. we will definitely go back to Garden Restaurant whenever we will visit Southampton again.

We had lunch here and the steam Sea Bass was perfectly done and fresh. All the rest of the dishes were also very good. We gobbled up all the food before any pictures could be taken. 😅 will definitely come back again to try the other dishes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the service by the young lady was also very good. 👍🏻

Visited here a bit spur of the moment as we fancied Chinese and very glad we did. All of the dishes we had were lovely, completely different to any other Chinese we have had. Good veggie/vegan options on the menu and they offered to remove the meat from any dish too. We got served by Melissa who was extremely welcoming and helpful. Overall a great experience and we are looking forward to going back to enjoy the garden in the summer and trying some more dishes we’ve never had before.

I recently dined at the Chinese Garden Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The sweet and sour dishes, along with the fried rice, were absolutely amazing. The duck was a standout, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service provided by waiter Melissa. Attentive and friendly, she added a personal touch to the dining experience. The ambiance was pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere. If you're a fan of delicious Chinese cuisine and top-notch service, this restaurant is a must-try.

The authentic Kung Pao chicken should boast a delightful lychee-like flavor profile, offering a pleasant blend of tanginess followed by a touch of sweetness, all complemented by the robust heat from the peppercorns and chili. Among the various options I've tried in Southampton, Garden Restaurant's rendition of Kung Pao chicken stands out as the closest to its origins. This unique flavor combination is also nicely applied, with a some variation, to their Yuxiang rousi (shredded pork in a sweet and sour sauce). A bit more kick of vinegar would have been better, but overall it’s a satisfactory rendition.

Service: 4 out of 5. They were great, quite fast when serving, but not as attentive after food have been served. We order a fair amount and dishes were not taken away once finished. But it is partly our fault for ordering way too much! Food: outstanding 5 out of 5. I have been to a fair amount of Chinese restaurant, from Chinatown to all the little part of London, and many others in smaller towns. But this is as authentic as you can ask for. Some dishes are ultra spicy so beware. Atmosphere: you can probably book a garden booth, I haven't try but pretty sure you can ask for that if you want some cold air. As for inside, it was nice and airy, have a nice and chillax vibe to it. Price: for the location, presentation, variety and quality of food, it would be considered a fair price. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu!
