this is a reply to james cotton review i was in on that night and there was nothing that the staff could have done more to resolve the problem you cant put your experience down to random man walking into a pub who i know him personally is suffering with mental health issues so im afraid your review is totally out of order towards the doxy lad that is a brilliant pub and colin the bar owner has worked hard to make sure that pub is a nice warm environment for people to come and enjoy themselves

Been using The Doxy now and then for a couple of years. Always something going on, whether it be entertainment or the owners improving the decor or the facilities. A belting little boozer, family run, all staff are superb, grub looks great also. Lovely to see in this tough times for a lot of businesses one that seems to be thriving due to brilliant ownership, investment & hard work. Always a super warm welcome even as a Geordie behind enemy lines. ⚫️⚪️😃

First time In the Doxy Lad brillant family run pub with a brillant selection of Largers and Ales and a so wonderful brand of gins as well as whiskys as well as friendly family and community owners and staff like brogan who is a genuine friendly bright happy smiling young lady who's smile will brigthen anyone's, dark day and I personally recommend as a pub and business
